My "Roman Empire is the realization that my life is a lottery win. Somewhere in Sudan, Pålestine, iran, Afghanistan, Iraq or Congo, there is a boy smarter than me. He is more disciplined, more resilient, and holds more potential in his single finger than I do in my entire career.

Perfect advice. Show, don’t tell.
Words are meaningless and when men use words it’s usually to tell you what they want (eg what they want to do to your body). Huge turnoff.
Show her how you feel in a way that would mean something to her.

Don't confess your love for them. That makes it about you. Show your love for them. Do things for them. Prove it to them. But, don't make it about you, this is key. Many men will show their devotion in a way that is manipulative, seeking to create a debt. No, no, no. In the age of swiping and flesh commerce, elevate the conversation. Be available, be interested, even be honest about your feelings, but observe boundaries and ask for nothing. Better even not to talk, as words mean nothing. Do things. Not big gestures, but consistent tokens and acts of love. It can be as simple as, "I enjoyed this book and thought you might like it."

i have a robust social life, well-paying job, amazing apartment in the middle of manhattan, have traveled to all 7 continents and over 75 countries, travel the country to visit baseball stadiums, make my own art, read 50+ books a year, and people still ask me about dating. WHO CARES!!!!! i know i don’t!!!!

Being a 29 year old woman is so crazy because you can explain how work is good, getting your masters part time, volunteer, have great friendships, and traveling a lot & you’ll still be asked if you’re dating anyone. Like why is the concept of me not wanting a boyfriend so insane

@MichaelAArouet It is hard for me to defend the US taxation, knowing that I am gonna pay $11k in property taxes this year and $17k in health insurance premiums for 2 people regardless if I even go to see a doctor. Oh and I also pay the income tax and sales tax and need to need my deductibles

Just the income taxes and contributions Europeans must pay make them significantly worse off than Americans after their healthcare expenditures.
And then add 20-25% VAT on top of that. Got it now?

This chart makes me laugh every time I see it. The UK, France and Italy are poorer than the poorest US state, Mississippi. Canada and Germany are poorer than the second-poorest US state. The gap will widen. And don’t come with “free healthcare.” You pay for it with absurd taxes

it’s so funny that all of Italy’s “local cuisine” required transatlantic travel to acquire the tomato in the first place and then still wasn’t invented until the 1970s. now they all act like it’s some indigenous foodways passed down to them from the Middle Ages

Americans are twice as poor as Europeans. GDP is an outdated metric because most wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. Europe does much better in terms of quality of life, even in its current reduced state. Imagine what a federal Europe would do

Yes, your billionaires are richer than our billionaires. Congratulations, I guess? lol.
Imagine being so brainwashed to believe that just because your billionaires are the wealthiest billionaires in the world, you are somehow part of that exclusive club. And what is more - to truly believe that people in West Virginia are wealthier and have better life than people in Italy or France.
Especially nowadays, when half of the population lives paycheck to paycheck, their bills are constantly rising, TWO full-time working parents are struggling with their expenses, and it's only going to get worse. Even a large % of the middle class is one health emergency or layoff away from bankruptcy.
This is just not the flex you think it is, and it is genuinely distressful to do this to your fellow citizens, given the struggle so many of them are currently facing.
