I really didn’t want to say anything, but here we are… all afternoon the guy across the street has been out doing yard work completely shirtless like he’s at the beach, not in the middle of a neighborhood where families are out walking and kids are riding bikes, and I tried to ignore it at first because it’s not my business, but after hours of it it just starts to feel unnecessary and out of place, especially when this isn’t some private backyard tucked away, it’s right out in the open where everyone has to see it, and at that point it stops feeling casual and starts feeling uncomfortable, and yeah maybe some people won’t care, but not everyone wants to deal with that while just going about their day, so I ended up making a formal complaint just so there’s a record, because if it keeps happening it’s only going to make things more awkward for everyone around here.

@Will_Scarlette @fwskiiii If anything sharing the story is an anecdote to the false claim "all white people back then were racist bigots." It is not true and it never was. As we can see from Carl Braden's action in assisting his friends. Heroes should be celebrated and their actions made known.

In 1954, Carl Braden was sentenced to 15 years in prison for buying a home for a Black couple because real estate agents refused to sell to Black people.

Black people often have to work harder for their degrees than White people. But some of you are not ready for that conversation, about the racist barriers we face.
