I think we romanticize how well the Fable franchise executed on its selling points in the past. Don't forget, you can't really plant a tree from an acorn, your muscles don't actually grow as a direct result of using a big sword, NPCs can't steal quests from you, your child does not take over as the playable character if you die, you can't rub your gold all over your body, and it's never been an open world. Every promised feature was inevitably truncated and simplified or completely absent, but now we love it anyway. As the new Fable draws closer to release, try to remember that unrealistic expectations and over-promising are practically a part of the franchise's identity. Be patient, trust the process, and be kind in your criticism.

@wesleytypes Oh good. I'm hopeful then that it's just that we aren't able to adjust the initial body but it will change organically depending on how we play. I was a bit concerned when they mentioned choosing from a number of "heads" during char creation without much detail around body type.
