The backstage meeting between Freddie Mercury and David Bowie during Live Aid in 1985 has become one of those unforgettable moments in rock history. Live Aid, held on July 13, 1985, was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia, and it brought together an astonishing lineup of artists. Queen performed at Wembley Stadium, delivering what many consider the greatest live performance ever, while David Bowie took the stage at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.
Even though they were on opposite sides of the Atlantic, both artists were central to the spirit of the event. Their backstage encounter captured the excitement and unity of the day. Freddie and Bowie had long admired each other, and fans still talk about the mutual respect that passed between them in that brief meeting. They were two trailblazers, each with a bold style and unmatched presence, sharing a moment behind the scenes of a concert that changed music history.
While their exact conversation remains unknown, the image of these two icons together continues to symbolize the magic of Live Aid and the powerful connection between some of rock’s greatest legends.

@DanDan1351@aqueenofmagic What is wrong with people like you? Not everything is a fake or AI or a conspiracy. Do a simple internet search of "Freddie Mercury and David Bowie at Live Aid 1985". It's not hard! Considering it was 1985, I'm sure the photo has been enhanced, but it's not a fake! Def is Bowie!
@WingMom_2020@aqueenofmagic Hi, thank you for replying back, I do not mean any aggression but having seen the original picture before I must say this one's a bad reproduction. Zoom in on their faces and the people in the background.
🚨BREAKING : Employees at Vanity Fair say they will WALK OUT if Melania Trump is put on the cover.
One editor said " I will walk out the mother fing door and half of my staff will follow me!"
What's your response to this ?!
@aqueenofmagic For all of the haters claiming this isn't David Bowie in the photo...(Us Bowie fans know him when we see him!) I'm surprised so many people don't know how to do a little research. 😂
@the_jefferymead I can't even watch the rest of the services because of the way liberals hijacked it. I don't know how the family didn't just politely ask the sound people to cut the mic. That shows how much more class the Jackson family has, compared to those who spoke out of turn.
Jesse Jackson’s son specifically asked people to keep politics out of the funeral.
Democrat leaders couldn’t do it.
They still used the moment to attack Trump and the right.
When a family asks for something that simple and it still gets ignored, that can tell you a lot about priorities.
Wild to watch.
@jammles9 I'm white/caucasian, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut, BUT why does Obama have a COMPLETELY different voice, grammar, cadence, and body language depending upon whom he is addressing? It's always bugged me.
🚨 Jesse Jackson’s family is furious.
After his father’s memorial, Jesse Jackson Jr. made it clear he was outraged listening to speeches from Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden that wasn’t about his father, but about their radical agenda.
He said it plainly:
“I listened for several hours to three United States presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson.”
Jackson Jr. reminded everyone that his father had a tense relationship with the political establishment because he refused to serve either party.
Jesse Jackson fought for the dispossessed and the forgotten, not for Democrats or Republicans.
If a man’s own son has to come out afterward and say the presidents speaking about his father didn’t even know him, that’s disgraceful.
A funeral is not your stage and a man’s legacy is not your campaign speech. 🤦♀️
