The backstage meeting between Freddie Mercury and David Bowie during Live Aid in 1985 has become one of those unforgettable moments in rock history. Live Aid, held on July 13, 1985, was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia, and it brought together an astonishing lineup of artists. Queen performed at Wembley Stadium, delivering what many consider the greatest live performance ever, while David Bowie took the stage at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. Even though they were on opposite sides of the Atlantic, both artists were central to the spirit of the event. Their backstage encounter captured the excitement and unity of the day. Freddie and Bowie had long admired each other, and fans still talk about the mutual respect that passed between them in that brief meeting. They were two trailblazers, each with a bold style and unmatched presence, sharing a moment behind the scenes of a concert that changed music history. While their exact conversation remains unknown, the image of these two icons together continues to symbolize the magic of Live Aid and the powerful connection between some of rock’s greatest legends. #FreddieMercury #DavidBowie #LiveAid #Queen

How anyone can watch this utter narcissistic ars***** tonight, is beyond me. He’s doing no such thing, he’s earning 400k pounds, whilst he should be representing the voters that put him in a job & also the taxpayer who pays his £80k wages. This man is an utter crank.

New - I'm told by senior Conservatives that there are MPs talking about triggering by-elections if Boris Johnson is serious about standing to be leader again. I've heard from MPs tempted to, and gathering evidence of defections and resignations in the event of his return.

@BBCFLauraKT I’m old enough to remember the summer of 76, we all managed to survive it then and I’m we’ll survive this time around. So why exactly do the powers that be think it’s necessary to have a meeting to discuss hot weather in the middle of summer

Treasury source tells me that first @RishiSunak knew that @sajidjavid was resigning was AFTER he put out his own resignation statement. The claim is these resignations were not coordinated. Which makes them 1) more damaging for the prime minister and 2) raises possibility…

Everyone at today’s summit was in agreement - we need buffer zones. And we need to work together collaboratively to get there. Thank you @NicolaSturgeon for your support and commitment on this. ❤️

What a pleasure welcoming First Minister @NicolaSturgeon to our Burntisland store today. She was really impressed with our range of refills and the fantastic variety of indie shops on the high street. Best of luck to @olafdoesstuff and @CllrLesleyBKWK on their campaign.
