@DougDeMuro @carsandbids the charger that Doug reviewed was in fact the high output scat pack which is why it had the bee logo. He was confused with the RT. Hope to hear about it on the next podcast. Love the review!

[NEWS] In wake of tragic accident, 77,000 Palisades recalled:
A 2-year-old girl died in Akron, Ohio on March 7 after a third-row power seat pinned her inside a 2026 Palisade.
Hyundai issued a stop sale days later, followed by a full recall of 69,060 U.S. and 7,967 Canadian vehicles.
The recall targets 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid models in Limited or Calligraphy trim.
Second and third-row power seats may fail to detect a person and keep moving on contact.
Hyundai is pushing an OTA software update by the end of March while working toward a permanent fix.
Until then: Dealers are managing frozen inventory, inbound customer concern, and Hyundai's messaging simultaneously.

People will say that $90,000 for a half ton truck is insane, even if it is a top tier trim level. However, they have no problem with full-size SUVs selling for 100K plus. I’d argue that a ram 1500 Tungsten is just as nice as a new Cadillac Escalade. The high-end luxury truck is not for everyone, but it still has a market.

Chrysler has some work to do but I disagree with those who believe that the brand is on the chopping block. it is still the best selling minivan in the US with over 35% market share. They need to add vehicles to the brand which will determine the future of Chrysler. Let’s hope Stellantis has learned from past mistakes and does not try to compete with luxury brands.

Stellantis is reworking its broader strategy under new leadership, and Chrysler is back in a familiar place — surrounded by questions about its identity and product timeline.

@MoneyJrod Exactly, depreciation is irrelevant unless you’re selling it. It reminds me of the news reporter that asked Warren Buffett about losing billions in 2008. He said “I didn’t lose anything because I didn’t sell”. The depreciation curve flattens out around 100k miles for most cars.

@TwiffaloTown @Jalopnik Well Saturn has been gone for a while now.
English

@Jalopnik My guess, and I hate to say it because I do love the brand, Rivian. Too new. Not enough market share. Huge overhead in a dying EV market. Also not well diversified. Stellantis, GM and Ford will be the last ones to go.
English

@Jalopnik The knee-jerk reaction is Stellantis and understandably so. They have made some bad decisions in recent years. However, if recession hits I don’t see any of the big 3 going down. They will consolidate brands. Fiat, Maserati and Alfa would be on the chopping block first.
English

@MarkShaug @Jalopnik They are great from a depreciate standpoint. We had a 2012 Sequoia with 250k miles sell for $12,000. I just think Toyota duped the market. New models are only marginally more reliable than the competition and you get less features for the same price as those competitors.
