It’s been 100+ days since Roe was overturned. Per @Guttmacher: • In 14 states no providers are offering abortions • At least 66 clinics stopped offering abortions since 6/24 • 26 clinics have shut down New York must lead. Let's pass the Reproductive Freedom + Equity Fund!

It is one thing to be upset at your elected representatives, it is another thing entirely to threaten their lives. The threats made to @tiffany_caban and her staff are unacceptable, and ultimately punish the constituents who do need help and can’t access the office.

Today, the Council will hear testimony on the bill with supermajority support to end solitary confinement in New York City once and for all. Locking people away for weeks or months does not keep us safe. Torture by any name cannot stand, and this Council must lead the way.

Equal pay now. On average, Black women will need to work until September 21 (today) to catch up to white men 🙄

Whether that’s the fault of @NYCMayor, DOE or the Council depends on who you ask, and it’s not entirely clear yet. But the system allows for a better flow of accurate information before votes are cast.
