@SandyofCthulhu I enjoyed the film, but yeah it is the weakest part of the movie when it can't seemed to choose if Dracula is a tragic victim of horrific circumstance or a unredeemable monster. Nosferatu got it right in that he is nothing but a monster and it embraces that fact

One of my favorite things about Dracula was that he was always ALWAYS portrayed as unredeemably evil. The Frankenstein monster? Not his fault. The Wolfman? Didn't choose his curse. The Gillman? He didn't ask the humans to come annoy him. But Dracula was just plain bad. This is why I hated Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula so much. They tried to whitewash Dracula to an extent and can we not have ONE SINGLE MONSTER that is just plain evil? It's so refreshing.

I’ll say it again: it doesn’t matter if your book is excellent and entirely human-written. You’ll still be outpaced by those who may be less polished but know how to market themselves well. What matters is that readers know you exist. Take the Shy Girl novel as an example. Sadly, at this point, many readers don’t seem to care whether a story is AI-written or AI-assisted, as long as it’s engaging and entertaining. 🥲

IMO, it’s not just about marketing. Fifty Shades arrived at exactly the right time, when conversations about BDSM were gaining traction, even if mostly in closed-door settings, and the book offered a glimpse into that world. It tapped into a specific market where sex sells, and more importantly, where readers were already curious and willing to spend money on that kind of content.

@Wolfofsteele @BasedRPG the whispering door quest could've been a bit more darker if we got any conclusion to anything Balgruf was accused of by Mephala, what happened to the wife? Does he really secretly agree with Ulfric but is loyal to the empire cause of the gold they pay him? Etc etc
