The distinction matters. In trad art there are many competing power centers — galleries, museums, collectors, critics — that check each other. Web3 is still small and concentrated. A tight group that controls attention and liquidity can lock the space around its own bags with almost no resistance. Staying silent out of politeness doesn’t protect the ecosystem. It protects the capture. When only the connected and the derivative get amplified, real development gets pushed to the margins. Choices shrink. Mediocrity inflates. Calling it out isn’t drama. It’s the only way to keep actual discovery possible.

well to begin with, i firmly believe in "innocent until proven guilty" but let's imagine, for the sake of argument, proof of guilt Then, even in the worst of crimes, which we certainly don't have here, there can be accountability & restoration without punishment, blame, & violence So all the rumors about unverified & rumored dark deeds to my mind is 100% the wrong direction because they stoke the fires of mob justice & there's no cure or healing in violence the community is important; retribution is not my principles here: • innocent until proven guilty • accountability without retribution • community building & restoration

my only message for this beloved community this morning is: LOVE love is the response to personal attacks, to rumors, to accusations, to cabals or non-cabals, & to every ignoble thought or feeling that flits through our flawed souls Anything less is beneath each one of us, & though we inevitably fail, there are increasingly real consequences to letting ourselves spin into chaos with blame, gossip, accusations, & scapegoating. We need to stop it, y'all. Take the higher road. Take it all up a notch. Check your shadow, your grief, your personal grievances. Find the spirit in you that resists all of that & which knows better. That love within you: bring it. This is the standard to which I for one am holding us. benevolence

@Sneketoshi Those feelings are completely understandable. What’s not fair Is that people would put pressure on you to collect their art when they see money flying around and not just be happy to see other artists succeeding. 🫂

I like to collect when I feel like collecting and in the way I enjoy not when others want me to collect when they are ready for me to collect. As much as I try to ignore the pressure I feel it always just beneath the surface with almost every interaction.
