So, finally today is the day when India’s Biggest IPO i.e. Hyundai Motor IPO has opened. Yesterday, Hyundai Motor raised Rs. 8,315.29 crore from 225 anchor investor at Rs. 1,960 per share (the upper end of the Price Band) including 21 domestic mutual funds through a total of 83 schemes (34.42% of the total allocation to anchor investors). Some of the best Anchor Investors have put in money indicates the future prospects of the company. Anchor investors spanning across continents and geographies include Govt funds, life and general insurance cos, emerging markets funds, public employee retirement & pension funds (including Boeing, American states, New York, Germany and India's National Pension Scheme), dividend stock funds, public sector and private sector funds, wealth managers and many others. Pension Funds investment indicates the long-term view and the offer price. Hyundai Motor India was India's second largest carmaker after Maruti Suzuki in FY24 in terms of passenger sales volumes. Hyundai Motor will continue to hold 82.5 percent equity stake in Hyundai Motor India post the IPO. This is to be noted that on Korean Stock Exchange, its parent company Hyundai Motor's share price has provided over 34% in the last one year This IPO is expected to surpass all previous records in IPO Market. I believe that participation from QIBs (FIIs, DIIs and almost all Mutual Funds) will be good in this IPO. Lets wait and watch !
