From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.

Thank you to the people of the Bronx and Queens for re-electing me to another term in Congress. As a waitress, I never thought serving in Congress would ever be a reality. It will always remain the honor of my life to serve our community.

Thank you NY-14 for re-electing @AOC for a fourth term in Congress! Our campaign is not just about earning votes, it’s about empowering each other to build stronger communities. We beat cynicism and despair with hope and solidarity. Let’s keep fighting 💪🏽

🥧Pie. Pie is what I am having to soothe my weary and wary soul. The genocide in Gaza and COVID pandemic are still here and the work remains. I don’t know what the future holds but I know I am connected to a mighty community that will continue to resist and provide care and love

someone told me to give the sobriety selfies “a rest” so I just wanted to remind everyone you can unfollow & mute & block me. 368 days sober.

Look at the price of eggs at Loblaws. How can people on minimum wage afford food in Canada? Not to mention those on disability benefits. Price gouging should be criminal.

@JustinTrudeau With no transportation system connecting our towns and cities, women in Nova Scotia rely on a volunteer network for rides to access abortion services. This is yet another example of systemic sexism in healthcare. Accessing basic health services should not feel illicit.

We’re pro-choice. We believe if a woman chooses to get an abortion, accessing one should be simple. So, we’ve launched a website with information about abortion: different types, how they’re funded, and where to get one near you. canada.ca/en/public-heal…

@AnitaKirkbride I've seen similar, but they left the building together and at that point my hands were tied. I hope it worked out in the end.
