Infrastructure upgrade is currently underway at Dhuliyan in Murshidabad; a 2 km flyover at Dakbangla More on National Highway 12 is being built to bypass one of the busiest choke points on the Kolkata–Siliguri Corridor. The project includes service roads on both sides to streamline local and highway traffic flow. Once completed, it is expected to reduce congestion, cut travel time for long-distance vehicles, and improve freight movement efficiency. Currently, vehicles can take 20–30 minutes to cross this short stretch during peak congestion; the flyover is expected to cut this to just 5–7 minutes, especially for through traffic, significantly improving long-distance travel efficiency.
