@GeoffShac I know, wishful thinking. The original mounding looked massive. Just interesting they're pushing arguably the most difficult approach on the course to the point players are going to have long/mid irons in their hand. Hogan once said if you see my ball on 11 green, I missed it.

@doglegpar3 Moving the club fast is nothing new. The shafts guys played until the metal wood era were 2" shorter (43" vs 45") and the ball went about 20% shorter.... A 250yd drive in 1955 would be equivalent of a 300yd drive today.

@doglegpar3 Used to play with a guy that played for Stanford and was a couple of years ahead of Watson. Tom routinely would go out and drop 68 with 4+ penalty strokes on his round. Said he was like an uncut diamond freshman year, miss was a push about 30 degrees offline that didn't move.

@doglegpar3 Tad Moore told me a hilarious story about Jumbo. He was obsessed with hitting it past Greg Norman. In the early part of the year it was a softer shaft and a harder ball and would transition equipment though the season.....he had to hit it past him.
