The Dual Training Policy is a transformative approach that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills by integrating industry-based training with classroom learning. By ensuring that trainees spend a substantial portion of their training (50% to 70%) in real-world industry settings, the policy not only enhances the relevance of the skills acquired but also fosters stronger partnerships between training institutions and industries. This collaboration is crucial for aligning training programs with the evolving needs of the labor market and ensuring that graduates are equipped with the competencies required by employers. The successful Cabinet approval of this policy is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all parties involved. It also underscores the importance of international cooperation, as exemplified by @giz_gmbh 's support, in driving sustainable development and capacity-building initiatives. This policy has the potential to significantly improve the quality of TVET in Kenya, reduce youth unemployment, and contribute to the country's economic growth by producing a skilled workforce that meets industry demands.
