Working on a short story, so it's dungeon synth and funeral doom today. They're the only genres I seem to be able get away with when I'm writing at the moment. DS chills me out, as does the slow ponderous sound of FD. Starting with Mortiis. I love the DIY look to the inlay.

@beepbat Ænima blew me away when I first heard it, and it still does now. I like all of their albums. Outstanding musicians. Sometimes, between listens, I can forget how good they are, but when I've got them on through a good set of headphones, I'm completely immersed by most of it.

Just preordered this for my birthday. Would you be shocked if I told you this is the only vinyl I've ordered this year? It's true. Who regularly buys vinyl when you're trying to just afford to live in this failed experiment called the USA? But I had to have this one, for reasons.

Ysbrydnos - Welsh Mythical Darkness (2026) Great to get some more black metal from Wales. Good album, quite raw and savage. Check out the title track (bandcamp), it's a hell of a song. I also like their album, The Forest Howls at Dusk. The title track rules on that one, too.

@DarkseidIsNot @AeternalForest It hints to me that he may have some unresolved issues with autism in some capacity, as from what I've seen of this, he keeps going back to it. Either way, it's bizarre to be levelling it at everyone who likes a certain band, and using it as an insult, too.

Felt like a classic this morning. Sepultura- Beneath The Remains. I'd put this in the top metal albums from the 80s. Still sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it many years ago. Such a huge influence on thrash and death metal.
