@kurt13warner Awareness formed by God's Word, perhaps, is definitely a fruit of faith. Faith is knowledge + assent + trust. Faith matters most because of what it is IN. Saving faith is in Jesus.

Just reading a book that said this: Is faith less about religion & spirituality & really about awareness?? Interesting thought & I don’t think it says everything - but as I have evolved in my walk with God I have often felt the key to it is my ability to be AWARE of Him in every moment of every day… finding Him in everything not just those things we deem “religious” or “spiritual”!

I’m a retired middle school teacher. People always ask if I miss the subjects I taught. I don't. I miss the kids. Ten years ago, I had a student named Leo. He was "trouble." He didn't do his homework, he slept in class, and he was always defensive. But I noticed something: Leo never went to the cafeteria. He’d sit in the back of the room during lunch, "reading" a book with an empty lunchbox sitting on his desk. I started bringing an "extra" lunch every day. I’d tell him, "Leo, my wife is trying to get me to eat these kale salads, and I just can't do it. Could you do me a huge favor and eat this turkey club so it doesn't go to waste? I don't want to hurt her feelings." He’d shrug, act like he was doing me a favor, and eat every single crumb. We did this for two years. Last month, I was at a restaurant for my 70th birthday. The waiter brought over a bottle of expensive wine and a note. The note said: "I’m still not a fan of kale, Mr. Henderson. But because of those turkey clubs, I stayed in school long enough to become the owner of this restaurant. Dinner is on me tonight. — Leo." I realized then that I wasn't just feeding a kid. I was feeding a future.

No matter how much it is an Olympic event, I will never understand the desire to follow (or participate in) the sport of curling. Brooms should not be sports equipment. Even though they look more like mops.

RIP to my favorite Presidents Day fun fact. John Tyler, our 10th president, had a grandson alive until last May. John had a son while in his 60s. That son had a kid while in his 70s. And that kid, Harrison Tyler, passed away last year at age 96. So… New fun fact: John was born during Washington administration. So 3 generations of Tylers span EVERY PRESIDENCY IN AMERICAN HISTORY.

Until I was almost 40 years old, I was very agreeable. Compliant even, one might say. Quiet, obedient, accommodating. To my own detriment. Now, at 56, I'm told I am too combative. I accept that. I prefer it.
