The most irritating moment from this clip isn't the "monster" thing, it's when Mearsheimer observes there's no evidence Iran had foreknowledge of October 7, and Nuland and Pompeo condescendingly scoff and sneer without actually producing the evidence.

@mattduss Mearsheimer's wrong that there's no evidence that Iran even knew about October 7th, though. He goes too far a lot with those kinds of statements.

A completely unfair fight. It would be praising Pompeo and Nuland’s arguments too much to even call them talking points, they’re just rote professions of faith of the foreign policy priestly class.

The Bund didn’t oppose Zionism because it was colonialism. Early Zionists weren’t colonizers — they were fleeing pogroms.
This is the settler-colonial framework being projected backward onto history it was never designed to describe.

The notion that we should avoid safeguarding Jewish houses of worship here and now because in England five years ago a council issued a report is underwhelming.
