🔥 Wednesday, June 7, 2023 will forever be remembered as one of the worst air quality days in the Northeast's history due to wildfire smoke. This is all due to wildfires that aren't even burning in the United States. (@willcano6) myradar.com/news/northeast…

In this one, a high-velocity resistance training was associated with improvements in executive function of mobility-limited older adults, something that appeared to be mediated by changes in lower-body muscle strength, power, and muscle thickness.

-New Case Study- A psychiatrist trials medically supervised ketogenic diet for the first time at bipolar patient's request. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37098202/ "In the presented case study of a male patient, thanks to the introduction of the ketogenic diet, full remission of the disease was achieved..." "The breakthrough was a complete absence of depression, which had accompanied the patient for 8 years, entry into a state of complete remission..." "After the introduction of the ketogenic diet, the man’s mood changed drastically and an improvement occurred at every level of his functioning. The nutritional intervention was conducted under the supervision of a clinical nutritionist and a psychiatrist." Critically the psychiatrist mentions: "On the basis of the described process, it can be assumed that not only the state of ketosis, but also its intensity (so-called depth) can determine the mood-stabilizing effect." I have noticed this. Similar to epilepsy perhaps some people may only see effects in deeper ketosis >1.5 or 2 mmol/L. I have not personally noticed additional benefit above 3 or 4 mmol/L, except when fasting. Interested to know if anyone has seen evidence of a ketone/GKI threshold for psychiatric (or other conditions). @ProfDanielSmith @ZSarnyai @ShebaniMD @DominicDAgosti2 @janellison @ChrisPalmerMD @KetoPotterRDN @DrRSBrown @KaniaZupec @GeorgiaEdeMD

We called four people and said: tell me an anecdote of your war — the war in Iraq as you lived it. This answers recorded by @gordemer are overpowering. Humans telling their stories. Set aside seven minutes and listen. @MorningEdition @NPR npr.org/2023/03/20/116…
