@XBaeanneX What length of books are we talking? It's a lot easier to get that count up if you're reading 150 pagers than if you like 1000 page bricks.

So tired of the BookTok discourse around if you read over X amount of books per year then ur clearly not reading them. Some ppl scroll on their phones for hours, some binge watch TV shows, some ppl just enjoy reading. Why are ppl so bothered if someone reads alot of books? 🤨

@prestonedu1 See I’ve never come across that discourse but I seem to come across alot of content where ppl belittle those who read what they consider to be alot.

@XBaeanneX I have no issue with people reading a lot. I read a lot. The issue when some of the people who read a lot act like those who read slower or not as much are not readers.

@XBaeanneX Point is, some ppl enjoy reading 10 books, some spend ALLL their free time on reading and can read 100…. Some could even easily read 200…..Its just so annoying to see everyone being so judgy. Let each other liveeee

@nikkoheadsets No one questions ppl who binge watch so many tv series but they do when ppl read alot of books which doesn’t make sense. I’m like you, reading is my escape so I’ll listen to audiobooks while I work and then read of an evening and I usually get through about 100 per year

@XBaeanneX I hate this because no one believes me when I say I read about 300 books per year. Usually a book a day. But I dont watch TV, I dont doom scroll, books are MY escape. Its takes the same time for me to read a book as it does to watch a few hours of TV

@XBaeanneX People think anyone who talks about reading is trying to look intellectual (and in some cases they are), but also, a lot of people just like reading and do it a lot. So much of what I read is beach reads. I enjoy the hell out of them, but it’s not anything to flex about.

@Ireditsx_ Yeah exactly! I read just over 100 last year and while there were a few 800+ books in there there were also some novellas and shorter books too 😅

@XBaeanneX My goal is 100 this year. Realistically there are 52 weeks….. thats like ~2 books a week…. That doesn’t sound impossible😭 Its not like all books have 800 pages…..

@halesenthusiast 💯 this, why are we policing how ppl read or how much they choose to read. It’s like when ppl say audiobooks don’t count as reading a book which is so ableist 😩

@XBaeanneX also unpopular opinion but lowk what’s so bad about skimming some boring descriptions or if someone just reads the dialogues, at the end of the day you ARE reading something atleast and not many people can say that. enjoy and don’t let anyone label your reading as less than.

@mersminds Omg that was literally the tweet that I saw that inspired this post like how is 30 books in a year completely unreasonable? I never see ppl who read alot of books saying stuff to ppl who don’t read many it’s always the other way around and I don’t get it 😅
