The Ontario Fire Department is battling a 6 alarm warehouse fire. The building contains paper products. Units from many neighboring departments are on scene supporting the suppression efforts.
STRUCTURE FIRE - rpt @ 1:45AM at S. Hellman Ave. x Merrill Ave. in the City of Ontario. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Dept. is assisting the @OntarioFireDept with a structure fire at the 9500 block of Merrill Ave/Kimberly Clark Warehouse. Firefighters are responding to reports of an approximately one-million square foot warehouse with smoke and flames showing. The first-arriving unit, Squad 27, reported heavy fire through the roof.
Due to the heavy fire conditions, Ontario Fire Dept. requests a second-alarm augmentation from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Dept., bringing in additional mutual aid resources, including 10 engine companies, one truck company, one squad, two Battalion Chiefs, and one Division Chief.

@CHP_HQ Please address the following next:
1) HOV lane and #1-2 lanes shall be for vehicles going more than 70 MPH (not 65 or under). Impeding the flow of traffic.
2) Middle lanes to the #1 shall not be for big rigs pulling heavy loads and going slow, impeding the flow of traffic.
🚨 When you see a CHP vehicle weaving across lanes with lights activated, it’s called a traffic break, used to slow or stop traffic. CVC §21706 requires drivers to stay 300 feet back from emergency vehicles displaying a red light. Watch our PSA to learn more!
