@Scott_Az @PapaFlyers It’s just crazy to say he “made a mess of this situation” when we are a game away from being in the second round of the playoffs. Somewhere we haven’t been in a long time. No one projected this lineup to be here, yet here we are.

The flyers didn’t lose cause Michkov was out. They lost because Rick Tocchet is not the answer and we are pretending he is.

@mash2k22 @FlyersNation @dfuzecr_ Putting up points means nothing if you are terrible defensively. If you only play one side of the ice, you can’t play. Him sitting will hopefully just make him understand that.

@mash2k22 @FlyersNation @dfuzecr_ How has he been mismanaged? There is a standard way to play the game. If he’s not meeting that, he’s not going to play. If Tocchet continues putting him out there while he continues making the same mistakes over and over, he’s not a good coach.

This is exhausting, and Rick Tocchet still doesn’t trust him at all. I personally wouldn’t scratch one of your two main cogs for the future, especially when this was supposed to be about giving the young guys playoff experience. I also wouldn’t have had him playing only 8-11 minutes a night. Hopefully it works out. I can get behind this as a one-game reset, but there’s no way Matvei’s getting back in the lineup if they win Game 5. There’s your scapegoat for one loss. And yes, I know he’s struggled this series. It’s just not a move I would’ve made. I see the thought process though…they’re gonna play Rick Tocchet hockey again in Game 5 and suffocate PIT. Hopefully Alex Bump makes the most of this. Go FLYERS.

Rick is asking a fish to climb a tree and when it can’t he’s saying look what a failure he is. Truly only the flyers could be up 3-1 in a playoff series and be completely failing the only thing that matters in the long run

If Matvei Michkov is benched long-term, the Flyers need to trade him this offseason If they don’t, they will be backed against a wall when he refuses to sign an extension next summer

@SuitableAlias No one’s blaming Michkov. They are just giving Bump a chance because they think he can provide more. Young players go in and out of the lineup all the time.

Couldn't be happier about Michkov sitting. Now he can't be the scapegoat and we'll have to actually examine the play of the team, for better or worse. Rather than wondering why Michkov isn't producing more efficiently than Gretzky.

@NHLFlyersHockey It’s not about sending a message. They just believe Bump might provide more. Simple as that.

Tocchet wants to sit him? Fine. If they lose, you immediately reinsert him back for Game 6. If they don’t, Tocchet isn’t sending the right message. Especially if TyFo continues to struggle with zero accountability.

I don’t know if fans have PTSD with Cutter or something else is going on but Michkov sitting a game is not going to ruin him, his game or his relationship with the coach or team.

@mteek They are not blaming him for anything. They are just giving another guy an opportunity over a struggling player. Not that crazy. TK and Forester are much better players than him.

When michkov gets traded I hope he scores 30 goals a year for the next 10 years . Flyers are blaming a 21 yr old who gets 4th line minutes . Forester has done nothin but gets a pass . TK has been terrible also . Gets a pass . Smh 🤦‍♂️
