I strongly dislike Nigerian "hustle" culture. The end game is always money. Not meaning, legacy or anything that outlives you.

There’s been a growing narrative that pitches the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) as opposing forces. This is not only incorrect—it is harmful to our collective strength. Let’s clarify. 👇🏾 A thread 🧵
The Nigerian Medical Association is the umbrella body for ALL doctors in Nigeria. Every licensed doctor namely House Officer, Resident, Consultant whether in public or private practice is a member. It is the peak professional association representing the interests of the entire profession in Nigeria. This has been the case since 1960 when it transformed from the British Medical Association Read more here: thenma.ng/about/history/ #OneProfession #DoctorsUnite

A NEW DAWN AT FTH LOKOJA: NARD CELEBRATES WITH THE NEW CMD The leadership of NARD, ably led by the voice of the voiceless and the Chief Servant of resident doctors, Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleiman, has joined other distinguished well-wishers to formally welcome the newly appointed Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Lokoja, Prof. Shehu Abdulrahman. This historic and ceremonial occasion was held on Monday, 30th March 2026, at the hospital premises. The event witnessed the presence of key stakeholders across the state, alongside members of the FTH Lokoja community. During this ceremonial activity, the NARD leadership presented a congratulatory roll-up banner to the new CMD, while the President conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes for a seamless and impactful tenure on behalf of all NARDITES. NARD is pleased to highlight the following significant developments: 1. Completion of the re-instatement process of FTH Lokoja 5+2: The new CMD has approved the re-instatement of the remaining two (2) sacked colleagues, thereby concluding the full reinstatement of the FTH Lokoja 5+2. Notably, this decisive action represents one of the CMD’s first official engagements upon assumption of office. While administrative processes for the issuance of formal reinstatement letters are ongoing, NARD deeply appreciates this prompt, proactive, and commendable intervention in resolving this longstanding matter. 2. Commencement of payment of Salaries/ Arrears: We are equally delighted to report that, the previously reinstated members have commenced receiving their salaries, with some already paid their arrears. This marks a critical step forward, and NARD remains steadfast in ensuring the full payment of all outstanding entitlements. With these milestones achieved, we can confidently affirm the successful resolution of the FTH Lokoja 5+2 matter. This outcome reflects the resilience, unity, and unwavering commitment of our association in defending the rights and welfare of its members. In recognition of this collective effort, the Congress of ARD FTH Lokoja honoured the NARD President and the Secretary-General with awards of appreciation. These awards were presented by the new CMD and Past NMA President, Prof. Mike Ogirima mni, respectively. The leadership of NARD, in collaboration with ARD FTH Lokoja, remains committed to strengthening engagement with the hospital management. Our shared goal is to foster a harmonious working environment and ensure improved welfare and remuneration for all members. NARD extends profound gratitude to all stakeholders—both visible and behind the scenes—whose contributions were instrumental in achieving the full reinstatement of our colleagues. We also commend our members at FTH Lokoja and NARDITES across the nation for their solidarity, resilience, and unwavering support throughout this journey. Appreciations must be given to the Honorable Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare Prof Mohammad Ali Pate, Honorable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, the Chairman of the CCMDs/MDs Prof Saad Ahmed and the NMA President Prof Bala M. Audu for all they have done for I ensure the final resolution of this matter. NARD is happy to declare that this matter is now fully put to rest. Together, we have not only secured justice but also reinforced the strength and unity of our great association. Thank you all, for your attention to this matter. Federal Ministry of Education
Federal Ministry of Education@NigEducation·
FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PRESS RELEASE 5th March, 2026 FG CLARIFIES: FEC DECISION ON NIGERIAN POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL COLLEGE ACT, SAYS PhD COMPLEMENTS NOT EQUIVALENT TO MEDICAL FELLOWSHIP The Federal Ministry of Education has clarified reports circulating in traditional and digital media regarding the approval granted by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to amend the Act governing the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College. The Honourable Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, explained that the approval granted by Council under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu enables the College to seek accreditation from the National Universities Commission to award Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in relevant medical and research disciplines. The Minister noted that some reports wrongly suggested that a PhD would replace or be considered equivalent to medical fellowship. He emphasised that this interpretation is incorrect. Dr. Alausa clarified that medical fellowship remains a distinct professional qualification in clinical practice, awarded to physicians who complete rigorous residency training and postgraduate medical education required for specialist practice. The reform simply expands the College’s academic mandate. Alongside awarding fellowships, the institution may now offer PhD programmes upon accreditation by the National Universities Commission. The Ministry stated that this approach will strengthen medical research, academic medicine, and specialist knowledge development while preserving the integrity and prestige of professional medical fellowships. There's no country that is geared towards progress and justice that will still have Dave Umahi as an appointee of the government with this level of allegation. That's why an Ike Ekweremadu would have walked free and rewarded by more government appointment were he tried in Nigeria

Broke David Umahi would tie towel around is waist, come to my hotel room and be disturbing me to date him instead of paying me my money. When I confronted him he told me "God is busy". - Madam Tracy. Guys it's been since GEJ's tenure. Umahi is evil. Release this woman now
