You can't enjoy a cup of coffee in Chicago without armed federal agents storming out and tackling you. This used to be a free country. We will become one again. Don't give up hope, and don't let them trick you into thinking this is normal.

I live in the suburbs, work in the city and suburbs for a small home services company. With 6 2-man crews, I spent $8k replacing tools that were stolen out of trucks in July, $14k in August, and $8k in September. It’s not worth it to work in the city anymore and I usually price jobs so high that people don’t hire me because I know I will only lose there.

As a Black man, and as someone who has been a victim of violence myself, shot while trying to protect my son in the South Shore area of Chicago, I can no longer stay silent about what’s happening in our city. I have seen firsthand the pain, fear, and trauma that come when crime goes unchecked while doing security assignments in and around Chicago including CHA complexes like Stateway Gardens. I fully support the National Guard being deployed in and around Chicago. Too many families are suffering, too many children are growing up surrounded by chaos, and too many innocent people are being caught in the crossfire while our leaders continue to fail us. Mayor Brandon Johnson’s refusal to let the men and women of the Chicago Police Department actually do their jobs has made things worse. The constant coddling of criminals by both the Mayor #ChicagosMayor and many on the City Council, along with the anti-police rhetoric and policies like cashless bail coming out of Springfield being led by #GovPritzker has created a city where accountability no longer exists and lawlessness has become the norm. I stand with the officers who still choose to serve despite being handcuffed by politics. I stand with the families who just want to feel safe in their own neighborhoods. And I stand for the truth—because until we face it, nothing will change. Chicago deserves better. Our people deserve peace. And our city deserves real leadership that puts safety before politics. The same people that oppose law and order are the same ones with huge security officer details paid for with Tax payers dollars, while everyone else continues to fend for themselves, especially on the @cta . I probably will lose friends over this post. People will consider me an enemy and traitor. Chicago alderperson: I went over to the hospital and I simply asked the ICE agents if they had a signed judicial warrant for the individual that they were trying to detain inside of the emergency room. No one was harassing the ICE agents. In fact, the only person harassed in that situation was me. I was handcuffed and shoved twice up against the wall for simply exercising my right to advocate for my constituents.

Since Illinois politicians are signing orders to oppose ICE and Brandon Johnson is trying to BAN them from city property, I, with 2.7 million residents are requesting that The Department of Justice AUDIT every migrant contract that’s been given out in the state of Illinois. 1 billion in contracts from Brandon Johnson, majority of the money went to Favorite Healthcare Staffing based in Florida. 95 million of those dollars were monies left over that were for citizens impacted by COVID. I’m sure guidelines didn’t allow it. This has been a corrupt money grab thus far and it needs to be investigated. Pastors and organizations tied to the mayor are getting paid from tax payers to get rich.
