@draginol @davepl1968 Or open Windows 11's clipboard/emoji list; It uses dumb modern UI or SOMETHING and takes a few seconds to finish appearing the first time. It's crazy how slow right-click menus are, but these modern pop-ups are also poorly designed (especially if using a HDD like me).

I worked on the XP run dialog. I'm a grizzled old man now, barely recognizable in the mirror, but even I think 94ms is a long-assed time to wait for a dialog to open.

A newly discovered security vulnerability known as Copy Fail, or CVE-2026-31431, has been disclosed in the Linux kernel. It affects virtually every major Linux distribution released since 2017. The flaw sits in the kernel’s cryptographic subsystem and stems from a logic error introduced back in 2017: >It allows any local user without special privileges to escalate directly to root. >The exploit is unusually simple: a short Python script can reliably achieve this by modifying data only in the system’s memory cache rather than on disk. >In practice, an attacker can target any readable file, such as a setuid-root binary like sudo or su, and alter it only in RAM. >The change is invisible to file integrity monitors and leaves no trace on the hard drive. >The same technique also works from inside containers, potentially allowing an escape from Docker, Kubernetes, or similar environments to compromise the host server. >This makes Copy Fail both stealthy and highly portable across systems. Patches have already begun rolling out from major distributors. System administrators should apply the latest kernel updates and reboot as soon as possible.

I tried using #Vivecraft before, but I didn't know it required a completely random TTS package (flite) to enter VR. Today, I installed that dependency and could play #Minecraft in #VirtualReality on #CachyOS, but chunks started flickering when I moved away from my spawn point.

@Nanocyde @LundukeJournal Indeed. How do these people keep their jobs or live like this? I liked the old GNOME that Ubuntu used in early versions, but I don't like current GNOME/Adwaita's weird large title bars and its basic dock. KDE may be woke and prefer Wayland, but I'm really liking the DE.

And, as usual, even though this is a (repeated) violation of the GNOME Code of Conduct… there will be no repercussions. Because GNOME is a political activist organization who regularly attacks people they disagree with (politically or religiously).

yes, i do and it’s actually more important than most people think the blue flame is what u want, what everyone wants. it means the gas is getting enough oxygen so it burns clean and efficiently. it comes from complete combustion which produces heat, carbon dioxide and water vapor... hotter, safer and better for cooking. the yellow/orange flame is a warning sign. it means incomplete combustion maybe cos the burner is dirty or airflow is blocked. that color can produce carbonmonoxide which is very dangerous for your health. it also wastes energy and gives you bad heat. learn something 👍

@LongbowGames Other things I've tried: • TrackMania United Forever - Works perfectly by itself, but mods "blacken" almost all textures, ruining it. • EDIROL SD-90 (MIDI module) - Adds audio and MIDI in/out connections with its "generic driver" on Linux, amazingly! • THPS 1+2 demo - Great!

So far, I've tested one game with Proton in Steam, #DXBall2: 20th Anniversary Edition by @LongbowGames. Other than the occasional freeze for a second, it's perfect, so this classic is safe on Linux. (It can also run without Steam on Windows, awesomely.) youtu.be/NgP4YMvNscQ

After my MSI laptop was fixed and returned, I saw it still had #Windows10. Knowing how bad #Windows11 could be, I kept it offline and installed FL Studio so I'll always have a way to play my SD-90. I still wanted to safely use it, so I added @CachyOS, too! Yes, I use "Arch", btw.

@LongbowGames Since it's a basic Win32 program, it isn't surprising that @LongbowGames's Texturizer tool also works perfectly with Wine, but I had to try it out, in case I wanted to design new #DXBall2 BoardSets or ImageSets sometime…on Linux! (Does the Workshop tool work here, though…?)

Yes, you only have to give them the more risky identification to unlock younger ages, but if you're making a game for “everyone” or a #RoyaleHigh-like game, you might want to target younger players. Well, that's impossible now unless you're okay with risking parts of your life.

Roblox just can't stop hurting itself this year, can it? Now you have to either hope their AI moderation likes you (for 16+ games) or you have to accept risking your ID leaking AND pay Roblox $5 every month to keep your game afloat (and it might not even make a profit). INSANE.
