There are currently over 514,000 job vacancies across Canada. That means more than half a million positions employers are actively trying to fill. So how can both things be true at the same time? If there are supposedly “no jobs,” why are there over half a million open positions? Are people unwilling to work certain jobs? Are wages too low? Are skills not matching the jobs available? Maybe the real conversation shouldn’t just be “there are no jobs.” Maybe it should be why so many jobs are sitting empty while people say they can’t find work.
