On one hand, 😩 On the other hand, this is the blockchain working as intended. You can't get this type of transparency from your usual shareholder reports. 🫰 I wish that the leadership would be smart enough to stop lying to people, though. Maybe we'll get there eventually.

NFTs are becoming a joke again. Essentially, there are two or three groups who mint hundreds of pfps for next to nothing… often times allocated more WL spots than anyone else, because allegedly they are good holders… until they’re not. So you have the same traders controlling supply on like 10 different collections. They intentionally ignore other more established NFTs because it’s better for their bags to monopolize the new mints. As a result, much of the older stuff lies stagnant waiting to die because these greedy motherfuckers won’t touch it unless they can hold 100 of them for pennies. Nobody cares about your art, story, or character development. They just want to extract before they get extracted from. I’m losing faith in this industry ever getting out of its own way.

tezos why do art patrons and collectors hesitate to collect on @tezos? trust. not in the artists, culture, or tooling, but in the blockchain’s long-term security and durability. i collect on tezos. my favorite OG series and artworks live there. i genuinely love the ecosystem, yet i would collect far more if i had conviction in tezos’ long-term resilience. if that conviction were broader and clearer, activity and culture on tezos would change by an order of magnitude. trust precedes culture; economic stability precedes trust. my ask for @ArthurB and tezos team is to address this head-on: be transparent about the long-term vision, execution, and specific plans to secure the chain’s longevity. 🤍 btw: the move by @fx_hash_ to list tezos artworks in usd was a serious mistake. it undercuts crypto-native culture and weakens the relationship between the art ecosystem and the chain that gave it life. @qaulv

I used to parrot that “art has, by definition, no utility”, but I’ve changed my mind. Art has a very specific utility: mental transportation. So it’s right up there with recreational drugs, and can be also addictive.
