A proper goal is something that you really need to achieve. Desires are things that you want that can prevent you from reaching your goals. Typically, desires are first-order consequences. For example, your goal might be physical fitness, while your desire is to eat good-tasting but unhealthy food. Don't get me wrong, if you want to be a couch potato, that's fine with me. You can pursue whatever goals you want. But if you don't want to be a couch potato, then you better not open that bag of chips. #principleoftheday

Super proud to attend a few fam & friends’ PhD defenses this year. It struck me how much PhD research is public-good by design — published openly, often publicly funded — yet later privatized by companies that patent downstream products (e.g. pharma).
Patents make sense sometimes: translating research into products takes real capital. But it does feel misaligned that original researchers rarely share in the upside..
This feels like a perfect blockchain use case:
– provable attribution
– transparent contribution tracking
– retroactive rewards when value is created
Align incentives. Fund science. Keep innovation competitive.. Is anyone building this?

I have pancreatitis again even after taking out my gallbladder.
These experiences have been so painful and scary, good reminders of what matters in life.
Sounds like I should be fine in a day or 2 but if I die Giraffe and Studlee can my stuff that the wife doesn’t know about.

I thought it couldn’t get worse with prices where they are but I’ve puked 11 times today and I’m in the ER

@MeganNyvold @Equinox This might be a Miami issue! My experience there wasn’t great either. Equinox in nyc has been awesome. Incredible instructors, equipment and spaces.
English

Quitting @equinox was quite possibly the best thing I have done
They sell a premium “experience” when it’s only fans people taking inappropriate “content”, people using equipment in unsafe ways, filming in the saunas etc. absolutely a waste of money a terrible management

In crypto, we rely on smart contracts to make things happen automatically - but at the end of the day, doing business still comes down to relationships. And that human element can’t be beat virtually..
Just came back from OutEast. Truly a fantastic event by @TheTieIO with a curated guest list of 300 institutional digital asset leaders, held at a private vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island.
From fireside chats and panels to roundtables, wine tastings, and dinners - it created the perfect environment to connect in a much more organic way, in an East Coast summer setting.
@Joshua_Frank_ and his team outdid themselves. Thank you for having us!
Great reconnecting with both new and familiar faces across the space🫶

Personal news: I’m joining @GSR_io as Head of Content and Special Projects.
I’ve covered crypto since 2017, always drawn to market structure and how institutions shape this space. What started with bitcoin futures has evolved into a truly institutional market with real liquidity, access, and regulatory clarity.
Now I get to help tell that story from the inside.

Do you have any questions for me?
I'm joining @AndrewAsksHow for a podcast later today, need some topics to discuss.
