Cutting the numbers of kids with EHCPs doesn’t save money. They’re just a diagnostic tool which mandate essential support. To save money you need to spend less on lawyers, bureaucrats and private equity. No child is ineducable.

After a fantastic day running a test @phab_charity training session for @CityofYork today it's doing final edits, finishing the feedback forms & an afternoon with my co-trainer Libby Welsh practicing our delivery in time for two months of training in the city next year.

@ChottuKhanna @MikScarlet @RichCourt235258 The up front non returnable “deposit” which can run to many thousands, makes up the difference. Many PIP recipients who aren’t in work can’t actually afford the scheme any more because of the up front “deposit” required.

To everyone losing their shit about #Motability, it's a car leasing scheme. No one gets a free car. We borrow it, with a weekly payment of £75 with a nonrefundable deposit which can be £1000s. The cars go back to Motability after 3 years & they sell them 2nd hand.

There are lots of Down's syndrome support groups across the UK, many affiliated to the DSA. We hope groups will empower their members to access support from as many organisations as they feel is right, from a range of sources. Support from one does not preclude accessing another.

We are delighted to have received a grant of £1000 from Gay and Peter Hartley's Hillards Charitable Trust. We are very grateful to receive these funds which we will be using to develop our support for children and young people of secondary school age and older.
