#BREAKING 🇺🇸🇨🇩 | Rep. Jacobs: “Congolese Don’t Have Time to Wait” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
“After a year of the Washington Accords, Congolese people have seen escalation, not peace.
We need immediate action to hold M23 and Rwanda accountable for their occupation and the latest offensive in Uvira.
The U.S. must get the peace process back on track, enforce commitments, and hold spoilers accountable.
Enough promises. Serious action now.”

On FRANCE 24 Interview U.S. Senior Adviser for Africa, Massad Boulos, openly blamed “M23 and Rwanda” for the latest violence in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Boulos described the takeover of Uvira as a “serious breach” of the 2025 Washington Peace Accord.
When asked who to blame, Boulos said.
“Obviously, this was the M23, backed by Rwanda, who took over the city of Uvira.”
He went further, stating that President Paul Kagame had “betrayed the confidence” of the Trump administration and President Trump personally.
According to Boulos, the U.S. considers the events in Uvira a serious violation of the Washington agreement signed in 2025.
He emphasized that the United States is not a passive observer.
President Trump signed the accord as a witness, a personal and political commitment at the highest level.
“We won’t take it lightly,” Boulos warned
After U.S. engagement with Kigali, M23 forces reportedly withdrew from parts of Uvira.
However, Boulos clarified that the withdrawal was not complete.
“They still hold some hilltops around the city,” he said, noting movements southward before repositioning.
In Washington’s view, this is not full compliance.
Pressed on whether sanctions could target Kagame directly, Boulos did not rule it out.
“I can’t speculate,” he said, but confirmed the U.S. has “a number of tools available at its disposal.”
He reminded viewers that Washington has already sanctioned Rwandan officials in recent months, including close Kagame ally James Kabarebe.
