Remember that Senzo Mchunu has a big constituency for the ANC in KZN so firing him prematurely without concrete justification could unsettle the internal dynamics within the ANC which the party can hardly afford in its current state. So if the dismissal recommendation against Mchunu comes from Madlanga comission final report Ramaphosa would be seen to be implementing the commission's recommendation. Much like what he did with Zweli Mkhize after the COVID 19 funds misappropriation. Not forgetting that Zweli Mkhize was eventually brought back as Portfolio chair. Party political dynamics make accountability difficult. That is why Dina Pule is also back as Social Development Minister 13 years after being fired by President Zuma in 2013 for misconduct.

President Ramaphosa could sense that something was not right about the arrest of General Fanie Masemola that is why he took long to act against him. PFMA related misconduct does not amount to corruption otherwise many CFOs and Municipal Managers would be jail as Auditor General Tsakane Maluleka keeps reporting on municipalities flouting PFMA regulations year after year. Ramaphosa didn't have a choice but to suspend General Masemola otherwise he would have been accused of trying to protect him as a reward for protection on Phala Phala, you know how conspiracy theorists move.

@Abramjee @LasiMakgoka @pule_jones I think Saps must have a legal department that will deal with departments like IDAC, that department must be able to teach them about law. I think IDAC took advantage of Saps.

@D_Molatoli After the appointment of Senzo Mchunu as the minister of police, Saps was exposed to the bullying by IDAC. Bheki Cele protected Saps generals from this abuse.

The sad part is that Julius Malema’s Mangutyana will walk away with her millions in pension from the state and IDAC and the state will be left facing a multimillion million rand civil lawsuit from the people she and her investigators illegally and wrongfully arrested.

The PKTT was the target. It was ruffling someone's feathers and needed to go. To weaken the PKTT, they needed to hit three people, the National Commissioner, Khumalo and finally Mkhwanazi, the head of the PKTT. It was all planned out It failed badly.

You and the other fellow are always defending the legal arguments of the big guy. What is your independent view of the legality of having $800 000 stored in a sofa for a long period of time undeclared? What is your independent view of the IPID report which said the investigation was unlawful, used state resources and involved illegal interrogation techniques?
Mbekezeli@MbekezeliMB

Luckily, I have read the judgment and it clearly says “on a worst case scenario” is Feb 2027 but on the current plan it says the review will be heard on 4-5 Sept (less than 2 months away) with a judgment to follow “in short order” — where the determination will be made.
