How did the planets in our Solar System form, and how did that picture change during the era of exoplanet discovery? Our first speaker @konstiplanet will discuss his research on protoplanetary disks --- the primordial birthplaces of planetary systems.

Last month, the DART mission slammed into an asteroid to change its orbit as proof-of-concept for planetary defense. Our second speaker @GarrettLevine96 studies the interplay between comets, asteroids, and planets, and he will talk about DART and its ramifications.

Our standard cosmological model tells us that even the largest galaxies started out as small objects. Thanks to the JWST we can now look back to the earliest epochs of galaxy assembly, and the things we see are quite surprising! Our final speaker @DokkumPieter dives into this.
