Nigerian national Anthony Adewale Sobogun, 61, of Croydon, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison at Inner London Crown Court today. He was convicted of the prolonged sexual abuse of two children over a 15-year period, including multiple offences of rape and sexual activity with a child under 13. Sobogun was arrested in the early hours of 2nd of July 2025. He was later charged and convicted following a thorough investigation by officers who took a victim-led approach to build the trust of the victim-survivors, gathering evidence and allowing their voices to be heard in court. The case followed an investigation by Metropolitan Police detectives.
