Hand up. Not sure how much we can keep rolling out 1-2 in this lineup…

Out of every 100 high school baseball players: • 7 play in college • 2 play Division I • <1 ever get drafted • 0.02% make MLB The odds don’t care about your dreams — but your HARD WORK can change the odds in your favor. 💯

You can’t control your height. But you can control: Strength Effort Presence That’s what “looking the part” really means.

Cheering your teammates on is great but there’s way more we can do while in the dugout to prepare for our next opportunity. Some will say stuff like this is too much and the dugout is there to “relax” and cheer, which is correct, but if the goal is to be a better competitor, these are some of the little things that WILL help. Win The Dugout Game!!

@YankeesMid @TekeTobie You were also the only coach to give him a shot back then. All the other coaches said he was ok, but not as good as who they had. Appreciate you believing in him way back as he kept working and keeps working.

𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 When myself or any other scout, watches a 3B/SS/2B, we have to prepare that you “may not” get a ground ball in the game. So what do we look for if that becomes the case? Take your GB work from the 1B between inns seriously with a plan! We are looking for the following: Consistent accurate throws ALL the time. Footwork, body syncing, actions/movement patterns, or how your body works? Your hands and how your feet and glove work. Grading your arm strength and most importantly, how serious you take this “small” task, which is not small, but vastly important! Do you have a routine and are you consistent in that routine?! 1) As an IN’er take your in-between innings GB’s from the 1B seriously! 2) Are you consistent in your throws w/accuracy back to the 1B’man? 3) All INF’ers should take a routine GB straight up at your pos, then take a GB to your forehand, then backhand. You usually get 2-3 GB’s before the pitcher is ready to go. Mix them up throughout the game, working them in throughout the 7-9 inning game. 4) 3B take a GB from the back corner of the INF/OF grass to show off your arm strength, which also keeps your arm stretched out for the long throw and continues to build and develop arm strength. 5) SS take a GB(s) from the deep 6 hole as well, with the same thinking as the 3B. 6) 2B take your routine GB from deep behind the 2B bag and then as well from straight up SS. 7) 2B/SS - Together work in some turns and feeds around the bag. Be accurate. 8) Work on throwing from multiple arm angles, depending on the type of GB you’re receiving 9) One of the INF’ers has to be proactive in making sure all the INF’ers keep their gloves/hats together as a unit, so as to be able to know where your glove/hat is to bring to you, if you are the last out of an inning or are left on base. We don’t want to see INF’ers being delayed in bringing your glove/hat to you by having to yell “where’s your bag?!” 10) Last box to check off for a 2B’man is can you play SS? If you don’t profile as an everyday player at the next level, but fall into the UTL category, a 2B must be able to play SS for a time or stretch, in case of an injury. You won’t be able to be a UTL player in playing 3B/SS as a 2B, if you can’t play SS. Arm strength, consistency in your work, preparation and having a plan are all being evaluated. You never know who’s watching and what we are watching? Everything you do on the field is being evaluated. @prepbaseball

It’s not up to your parents/friends/coaches to decide how far you go in your sport. Your support system will advise you, guide you & they help hold you accountable, but it’s on you to deliver. Stop making excuses. It’s your responsibility to find time & put in the work! Period.

HS Baseball Players ⚾️ • 7% chance to play after HS • 3% to be a D1 player • Of that 10%, 2% to play pro These numbers should motivate you. HOW bad do you want it? HOW often are you lifting? HOW often are you throwing? How often are you hitting? YOU gotta earn it 💯
