🚨 BREAKING | U.S.-Kuwaiti journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin was acquitted of all charges by a court in Kuwait on Thursday and is expected to be released imminently, according to Caoilfhionn Gallagher, international counsel to Shihab-Eldin’s sisters. Shihab-Eldin was arrested by Kuwaiti authorities on March 3 reportedly over social media posts related to the Iran war. “We are relieved that, after 52 days in detention, Ahmed has been found innocent on all charges. Our focus now is upon ensuring the liberty and safety of our client,” Gallagher said in a statement. In its first ruling, a newly established court overseeing state security and terrorism crimes on Thursday issued verdicts for 137 defendants accused of “inciting sectarian strife on social media platforms,” according to Al-Rai newspaper. 17 defendants were sentenced to three years in prison; one was sentenced to 10 years; nine were acquitted; and 109 were not subject to any criminal penalty.

Several things have been making the rounds on social media this week. The first is a video of an Israeli detailing the Israeli army's systematic sexual assault of Palestinian prisoners and detainees (FYI Palestinians have documented this for decades). The second is that of a photo of an Israeli soldier taking an axe to a statue of Jesus in southern Lebanon. Guess which one has received the most attention in the Western mainstream media?

BREAKING— two Palestinians, including a child, killed and several other children injured in an ongoing Israeli attack on a school in the village of Mughayer northeast of Ramallah. This is second attack of its kind in the last 24 hours, and comes after a convoy for an Israeli minister ran over and killed a child in Hebron, south of the West Bank. Israelis are carrying out intensified and increasingly violent attacks in the West Bank with the purpose of dispossessing Palestinians from their homes and lands.

The outrage shouldn’t be about a destroyed statue of Jesus—abhorrent as that is. The real outrage is the targeting of civilians, the assault on human dignity, the devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. War is evil. We need Accountability.

🧵Today is Palestinian Prisoners Day, a moment to stand in solidarity with the nearly 10k Palestinians in Israeli detention. Israel's carceral system has always been a central instrument of its settler colonial project, and this year that reality is starker than ever ⬇️

🔴Israeli soldiers shot and killed 2 truck drivers hired by UNICEF to supply water to families in Gaza, the agency reports. They were struck during routine operations without Israel notifying any changes in movements or procedures.

Shooting and crying is a favourite pastime of so-called Israeli leftists. Accountability for genocidal war crimes… not so much.

Signs are pointing to a higher likelihood of a framework agreement between the US and Iran being secured through Pakistan in the next few days. To be followed by another 30-60 days for a final agreement. That is indeed an achievement, but it is important to understand how vulnerable the final agreement will be in that 30-60 day window to Israeli sabotage. If past patterns are repeated, Israel will do everything in its power to prevent any deal that ends the US-Iran enmity and lifts sanctions on Iran. If he really wants the deal, Trump will have to be tougher on Netanyahu than he has ever been before.

A dark, dark, future lies in front of us. A future where you can receive a phone call presenting you with an ultimatum; to be killed in your car with your family or to get out and run only to be chased and killed by a drone controlled by a psychotic teenager sitting in a bunker a few kilometres away. Today, on Palestinian Prisoners Day, at least 10,000 Palestinians are being incarcerated by the Israeli regime. Many of them kidnapped from their homes in the middle of the night, or taken from checkpoints on the way to work. Others rounded up and bound like animals having just survived a genocide. The conditions inside Israeli prisons has deteriorated severely. Nearly all the prisoners have scabies or other types of skin diseases/ infections from the poor sanitation. They are being denied communication with their lawyers and families. All are being held in violation of international law (if that counts for anything anymore). Freedom for our prisoners, freedom for our loved ones, today and everyday.

What ceasefire?

🚨President Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to begin a 10-day ceasefire, following talks with Lebanon’s Joseph Aoun and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu. ➤ The ceasefire is set to start at 5 p.m. EST, according to Trump. ➤ “I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, together with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a Lasting PEACE,” he added. ➤ “It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th.” .

Israel just blew up a school in southern Lebanon. A year ago, it would have fabricated lies that the school was a secret hideout of Hamas or that there were tunnels below it filled with weapons. Since the West protected Israel as it destroyed Gaza, Israel doesn't even feel the need to make up lies or excuses any longer. It just kills and destroys without limitation. And according to Israeli politicians, yesterday it was Gaza, today it's Lebanon and Iran, and tomorrow it will be Turkey.
