Ramesh inspected various World Bank-funded Storm Water Drain (SWD) development works being executed across the city and directed officials to complete the projects within the stipulated timeline. 📍 Key Inspection Highlights 🔹 Ramagondanahalli (Near Manipal Hospital): Directed officials to conduct detailed surveys, identify encroachments, and restore the drain to its original width as per revenue records. 🔹 Varthur Kodi – Hagadur Rajakaluve: Reviewed ongoing development works aimed at improving the carrying capacity of the major storm water drain to reduce flooding and waterlogging. 🔹 Varthur Layout: Inspected the widening of the existing drain from 3.5 metres to 8 metres to facilitate smooth rainwater flow during the monsoon. 🔹 Sorahunase: Directed officials to execute drain development works as per technical standards and expedite completion while ensuring long-term sustainability. 🔹 Gunjur BDA Apartment Area: Ordered a comprehensive survey and installation of permanent boundary stones before taking further decisions regarding the long-pending drain project. ✅ Restoration of drains to original width ✅ Improved storm water carrying capacity ✅ Reduction in urban flooding and waterlogging ✅ Long-term flood mitigation measures 💬 Commissioner D.
