your phone number is personal and sometimes you want to connect without handing it over. that's why we're introducing usernames for WhatsApp. starting this week, you can reserve a username to use later this year when we launch the feature. It takes just a few seconds, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp and then go to Settings > Account > Username.

🚨 🇨🇳 CHINA JUST SOLD OUT ITS FIRST DOMESTIC GPU IN 48 HOURS. The LX 7G100, built independently in China, got 30,000 reservations in two days and sold out instantly. Demand crushed supply on day one. This is not about specs. This is about sovereignty. Chinese consumers are buying domestic GPUs even when the value isn't there yet, because they understand where this is going. Every unit sold funds the next generation. Every generation closes the gap with $NVDA. Every closed gap rewrites the global GPU market. The first iPhone wasn't the best phone either. Neither was the first BYD car. China doesn't need to win on day one. They just need to ship.

The 2-4 hours you spend scrolling each day (or 730-1460 hours each year) is more than enough time to write a book, build a business, or get in shape. In the moment, it seems like nothing. That's why it's so dangerous. Your time disappears without you being conscious of it.

🇹🇷🇬🇭 A single Turkish ship anchored off Ghana's coast generates over a quarter of the country's electricity. The MV Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan is 299 meters long and pumps out up to 480 MW of power. It has been doing this since 2017. No power plant to build. No years of construction delays. Karpowership, the Turkish private company behind it, has quietly turned this model into a global business, deploying floating plants to countries with chronic energy deficits across Africa and beyond. Africa has an infrastructure gap that traditional investment has failed to close for decades. Turkey found a way to monetize that gap with engineering.

You dont want a yacht. You dont want a big house. You dont want a super car, a $40,000 watch, or shoes you worry about getting dirty. You want free will. You want to wake up naturally on a Tuesday and you want to go to bed when you’re done having fun. You want to say yes to everything that excites you without having to request time off. You want to go to the the gym at noon, in absolutely no hurry. You want to spend 18 hours a day doing what you love. You want to be exactly where you desire being, always. You want to spend as much time with the people you care about as possible. You’re saying you wanna be rich? In what?

When I was 15, I spent 6 months building an Android app in Kotlin (thank u @udemy) but when i tried to publish it on google play i discovered the most absurd thing EVER: @GooglePlay don’t allow Moroccan developers to become merchants???? 🇲🇦🇲🇦 In other words, you couldn’t charge money for YOUR product because of where you were born I tried finding a way around it and even asked a friend of my dad’s in France to publish it for me but eventually jst gave up. I’m 21 now, building from 🇪🇸, and it’s craaaazy how much easier everything is. “Supporting young African innovation” but can't even give us access to the same infrastructure, how sad!

I borrowed an umbrella from my Airbnb host in Kyoto. I forgot to return it when I checked out, and realized when I was already on the train to Osaka. I felt terrible. It was a nice umbrella, not a cheap one. I messaged the host apologizing. She responded: "No problem! Enjoy the umbrella. It's yours now." I said I'd mail it back. She said "please don't. Postage costs more than an umbrella. Just use it and think of Kyoto when it rains." I insisted I wanted to return it. She said "okay, but I have a different idea. Next time you see someone who needs an umbrella and doesn't have one, give them this umbrella. Tell them to do the same when they are finished with it. Maybe an umbrella travels all around Japan helping people." That idea was so beautiful I agreed. Two weeks later I was in Hiroshima and it started pouring. A woman with a baby was standing under an awning looking stressed. No umbrella, the baby was crying. I walked over and gave her the umbrella. Told her the story in broken Japanese. She understood enough. She tried to refuse but I insisted. Told her "when you're done with it, give it to someone else who needs it." She nodded, said thank you about ten times, and hurried off with her baby. I got soaked walking back to my hotel but felt good about it. Sometimes I wonder where that umbrella is now. Hope it's still traveling, still helping people.
