Home Insurance Market is Crumbling: $1.6 trillion ($1,600,000,000,000) in home value or 7.4% of U.S. homeowners go without insurance. CNN puts out report that the home insurance market is crumbling (I think we all knew this already). With insurance rates in tough states like CA, FL, LA, TX, and more seeing dramatic pricing increases, some 6,000,0000 homeowners chose to go without homeowners insurance. Those opting to go without homeowners insurance are mortgage-free and typically can't bear the additional expense of insurance with the current market increases. Any losses to these homes will present major issues, as if they can't afford the insurance premiums, they most certainly can't afford the cost to repair after loss.
