@GoosiferTrading @BlogJulianKomar @jfsrev Difference between 2-Stop and 3-Stop is not huge: 0.75R vs 0.67R The big difference is made, as soon as you establish a multiple stop strategy. I like two stops more, because it gives me more leeway in terms of entries.

@BlogJulianKomar I'd be curious for you to backtest @jfsrev's 3-step stop strategy. I know you backtested a 2-step. Maybe a 3-step would be different for you? I can look up the details if you want. I just have a passing awareness of it.

Regularly backtesting is crucial for me to find improvements in my trading 💰 Do you do backtesting? Here is what I tested with my own data 👇 I backtest on my own past trades and seek improvements of the expectancy. What did not work for me could work for yo and vice versa. I am a homer un trader as you know. I have a couple of huge winners in a year and that makes all the difference. So I always need to improve my winners and keep my losers small. Yesterday I tested a few ideas on my own data: 1. Using staggered stops: What would happen if I sell 50% on the half way to my stop loss? Result: Negative. It would decrease my hit-rate too much. A smaller average losing trade will not make up for it. 2. Selling 10% of the position if the stock is up 10% from my point point. That should help to reduce the average loser on full u-turns. Result: Negative. It will decrease the losers a bit, but my winners will be smaller! That lead to a lower expectancy overall. 3. Testing different ATR stops like 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 times ATR as stop. I wanted to know if a systematic stop loss is better than a discretionary stop. Result: Negative. Too tight stops will kill winners and hit-rate. Too wide stops will increase losers. No higher expectancy. The best way I found to increase my expectancy is always the same: 1. Better trades. Trade more 4-5 stars setups and no 3 stars or below, 2. Market selection. Trade only if my Market Trend Model is green. 3. Avoid setups that I am not good at: Short trading and gaps. A lot of ideas that sounds logical and not automatically more profitable. You have to test it. Backtesting can be very simple. You can do it manually or automatically with Chat GPT, Google Sheet and a data API. What could be a good idea to backtest to improve my trading?

Erfolgreiche Trader verlieren nicht weniger, sie bewerten Verluste lediglich anders: Ein Loss ist kein Scheitern, sondern Betriebskosten. Der Eintrittspreis für das Spiel. Wenn du dich an deine Stop Regeln hälst, dann hast du nix verloren, du hälst den Betrieb am Laufen.

Probleme entstehen, wenn man glaubt, dass bloße Imitation ohne Anpassung ausreicht, um dauerhaft profitabel zu werden. Deutlich wertvoller ist es, die Prozesse zu verstehen.

$CIFR heute beim Bruch des Hochs der ersten 30m ergänzt, passt gut in den $IREN - Trade, den ich bisher laufen lassen. Das Datencenter - Narrativ ist eine der frühen Erzählungen nach den Halbleitern, mal sehen wie sie in der Session heute noch performen werden.

Ein guter Start in das neue Handelsjahr. Ich hoffe dass die Indices belastbar bleiben und weiterhin Durchzug bieten. Und Pluspunkte, wenn Krypto endlich mal nicht abstürzen würde...

@TedHZhang @CFlanders7 Selling on the first EMA10 close vs the first EMA20 close is btw 14% more profitable, at least in my journal. Partials are my Nemesis though...currently trying 20% @ 4/5R to avoid capping my outliers (10R+ home runs) while still monetizing the mid-range (2R–10R)... Tough.

I met up with @CFlanders7 recently and he suggested I take all my trades and do the following hypotheticals. For every trade: Either stop out at the stop or sell on the first close below the 10-DSMA (then 20-DSMA and 50-DSMA or any combination). The change in results is dramatically revealing.

Fehlende Eigeninitiative und müde Geister sind echt schwere Symptome, die ich aktuell häufig beobachte. Wir sind komplett eingelullt in unsere Routinen, so dass wir es kaum wagen, dessen Sicherheiten zu verlassen. Echt schade, ist irgendwie schon wie bereits tot sein.

Du brauchst nicht bessere oder spektakuläre Trades. Du brauchst mehr von dem was einfach funktioniert. Immer gleich ausgeführt. Langweilig ist profitabel. Zufällig nicht.

Du sollst im ersten Monat kein Geld verdienen. Du sollst nur nicht aufgeben. Jedes gesprengte Konto, jeder Rache-Trade, jede Emotionalität is ne Studiengebühr. Du zahlst für ein Upgrade deiner Geisteshaltung. Slowly but steady.
