@Jenny_1884 Everybody did. No alternative. Parents went to work, bicycle to bus stop etc. Sopping wet 'macintoshes' partially dried out during the day. Left for home 3.30 - no 'groups' then (except behind the bike shed 😁).

@clearticulation At close of day, all money held is available for investment or loans world wide overnight until required next day. That money is kept busy, big time! Pension funds etc have 'Night Money Managers'. Weekends n Bank holidays are a bonus for them.

Please explain why the banks don’t process payments over Easter, weekends, public holidays? Banking is all computerised 24/7 and robots don’t take holidays so WTF?

@PJA1066 The State pension is a 'replacement' of earnings and is therefore added to any other earned income for tax purposes. In other words, you're phucked if you don't do some cash-in-hand or have other income.

Somebody please clarify. I understand that benefits are not taxable so, since some claim that the state pension is a benefit, why is it taxable ?

@SandyofSuffolk Managers in cities report that job applicants ask now about 'WFH' before asking about the job requirements. They're not interested in getting in amongst the cut and thrust of a career progression. There are exceptions of course but they are rare.

The trouble is young people have been told for years "you can be anything you want to be", when you can't. They've seen a handful of people make millions from being an influencer. They've all gone to university thinking it'll be a gateway to a better job when, really, if you're not exceptionally bright, you may as well not have bothered. The majority of people have to settle for run of the mill boring jobs. And young people are resentful. They're waking up to the fact life is hard graft and to get anything you have to work hard, long hours, and forego many things that, until adulthood, were handed to them on a plate. They're lashing out because too many people like teachers and their soft parents haven't prepared them for life in the real world. It's coming home to roost that life isn't all unicorns and gap years. They want what nan and grandad have. Now. Now!! They forget how nan and grandad got it and it wasn't by sitting on their bums on Playstation. Welcome to planet earth young 'uns.

As much veg and potatoes as you like. And the drinks and puds aren't expensive either. You can stick your gastro pubs where the sun don't shine. 😝

@ronsterd89 Electrolytes. Oral rehydration salts (classed as medicine, expensive) or 'hydration tablets' classes as supplements (cheap), both contain the same ingredients in same proportions. I suffer the same and take the dose as and when required - every 6-10 days. Beware Xs potassium.

As another man who once worked with me declares himself saddened by my beliefs on gender and sex, I thought it might be useful to compile a list for handy reference. Which of the following do you imagine makes actors and directors who aren’t involved with the HBO reboot of Harry Potter so miserable? Is it my belief that women and girls should have their own public changing rooms and bathrooms? That women should retain female-only rape crisis centres? That men don’t belong in women’s sport? That female prisoners shouldn’t be incarcerated with violent men and male sex offenders? That women should remain a protected class in law, because they have sex-specific needs and issues? That language should reflect reality rather than ideological jargon, especially in a medical context? That women shouldn’t be harassed, persecuted or fired for refusing to pretend humans can change sex? That women should not be threatened with violence and rape when they assert their rights? That freedom of speech and belief are essential to a pluralistic democratic society? That troubled minors, especially those who are gay, autistic and trauma-experienced, should be given mental health support instead of irreversible surgeries and drug treatments on non-existent evidence of benefit? That gay people shouldn’t be pressured to include the opposite sex in their dating pools, nor should they be smeared as ‘genital fetishists’ when they don’t? That cross-dressing heterosexual male fetishists aren’t actually oppressed, but having the time of their lives piggybacking off gender identity ideology?
