@hahussain You make it sound like it's happy days for the gulf states as if they are immune to this blockade. Meanwhile, the global economy is on the brink of a depression if this continues. Iran's threshold of pain is pretty high, the question is, "is the West's?"

Totally agreed. There has never been an Ace card in America’s hand against Islamic Iran like the ongoing naval blockade. All that is needed is some patience to overcome efforts of Iran’s friends in Congress and those speculating on oil market to push up prices. Otherwise, Iran is on the ropes.

Today Trump was pleased to announce that starting next week Americans who buy cars imported from Europe will be forced to pay 25% tariffs. Since that pleases him, I assume he's also pleased that Americans will pay higher prices for non-EU cars too, due to reduced competition.

This demonstrates that blocking SOH isn’t the full picture for Iran. They have a number of routes through land borders, and the Caspian Sea, by which they can continue to do international trade.
Shutting down the SOH is a big hit to Iran, that is sure, but if you’re betting on a quick turn around of pressure on the Iranian government that will compel them to submit to America’s demands, your in for an unpleasant surprise.
Spin aside, the Iranian side is also calculating, and they can see that the harm done to them over time will be painful, but less than the harm done to the United States over the same time frame if this blockade extends into some number of months.
Regardless of what all President Trump and his enthusiastic supporters say in public, time is most assuredly not on our side.

You fail to mention that the blockade effects ALL GCC countries. You're not immune nor are you the exception. UAE asked for a swap line from the US, essentially a bailout because they're broke. Iran hasn't asked anyone for a bailout and their threshold for pain is a hell of a lot higher than the US or any fragile monarchy in the Gulf
