It's very simple. Past predicts the future. Nintendo HAS ALWAYS BEEN extremely greedy and anti-consumer, so their price increase are seen negatively. Valve has proven themselves to be generous and pro-consumer, so people go easy on Valve.

@HardwareSteam If the price ends up being close to a ps5+steam deck comp that makes 0 sense. Pc games on steam deck, AAA on ps5 (when with disk you can buy cheap physical disks) everything hooked up to a TV and I have best from both... ps5 pro level seems ok + a bit for pc freedom

@SunFoxx_ @HardwareSteam For 1.500 i can get a ps5 with diskdrive (used cheap ps4/ps5 games) AND a steam deck (access to those games not on ps5) docked. I get even more for the same price and have money left... Doesn't make sense to me

@HardwareSteam Probably 1500$ max for the machine. It may seem too much at first, but just keep in mind that RAM prices will keep climbing and hardware prices will follow. They are very unlikely to ever restore as the demand for compute will keep growing further. Expecting ~800$ is delusion tbh

The Nintendo hate is so forced tbh There’s always been an unfair double standard against Nintendo and it’s usually because of a deeply rooted belief that Nintendo is just for children and therefore deemed as inferior compared to the other consoles

@YtGille @trepeserafin You lose all your games you've purchased on the platform, consoles you may lose function of the platform but retain the games you've bought. It's easier to buy a new console than it is to rebuy hundreds of games over years.

With this severely anti-consumer price hike that Valve just pulled, I'll admit that I was wrong. Previously, I said that Valve was just as greedy as Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox. I was 100% wrong. And unlike some people, I can actually admit when I'm wrong. Valve is even worse. This price hike proves they're more greedy and anti-consumer than PlayStation, Xbox, And Nintendo when it comes to raising hardware prices. They never raised the prices by $300. You know that mistake has been weighing on my conscience this whole time. It feels good to finally admit when you got something wrong. By the way, I'm still waiting for all the fanboys who have spent the last few weeks attacking me, calling me names, and saying I was wrong about Valve being greedy and anti-consumer. Nintendo Switch 2 remains to be the best deal in gaming. Not only currently but also next Gen because the PS6 and Xbox Helix are gonna be expensive af. It's worth the upgrade with performance boost, full BC with Switch 1 and a consistent lineup of quality exclusive games
