Wild day. Had to leave the game unexpectedly after getting a call that my son had taken a scary fall and was headed to the hospital. Thankfully, after a very long few hours, he got the all clear and is doing well. Tough kid. The first thing he asked me when I walked into the ER: “Did the Mets win?” Saying “yes” didn’t really feel like I was doing it justice. Sorry I disappeared and missed the walk-off interview. Pretty good reason, I’d say. Anyway, what a win. What a homestand. Season back on. Very grateful tonight. See you tomorrow from D.C.

@AnthonyDiComo He pitched Bellinger like he was Shohei Ohtani. Pitch him up and in. That’s where the hole in his swing is. Also backs him off the plate. The inability to pitch to contact is so frustrating.

Freddy Peralta has a 2.98 ERA, but his inability to pitch deep into games continues to limit his value. Peralta needed 96 pitches to record 15 outs today. Now, the Mets will ask Sean Manaea to pitch with two men on base in a tie game. It's Manaea's first appearance in a week.

I have a question for the @Mets. With Bellinger standing on top of the plate and with his long swing, plus his long swing, why are you not pitching him up and in? That’s his historic hole in his swing. Baffling. #LGM

@ernestdove I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player who needs a day off more than Bo. I get they are trying to let him play through it and with all the injuries they need his bat. But maybe a day off to sit and watch would help.

Mets simply cant keep Bo Bichette in the top part of the lineup.
