"I tried to be really cautious that I wasn’t going to come in and play the footy I know I can straight away."
Despite coming in with a realistic outlook, there was still an element of frustration for Elijah Hollands after the opening two games of the season.
Using the bye to reset and take stock, Lij has started to 'find his feet', averaging just shy of 20 disposals as well as over a goal a game in his last three games.
Just as important is he's been doing so with a smile on his face. "I'm really enjoying being back playing."
Great to see you out there, Lij 💙
@YzeCubs I wanted Jobe so bad, was surprised Armstrong was still on table. Jonty was a bolter. Can't judge KP fwds until 22. Cleve Hughes was a world beater early on but Jack struggled when he was young. Plenty of time.
@ZirraTGK Yep, not writing him off by any means, but certainly needs to show more. Not asking him to kick bags every week, that’s not realistic, but he needs to compete at a bare minimum.
@YzeCubs It’s a hot take, for sure, because I think if you line up Faull’s stats vs Riewoldt’s stats for same amount of games at the start of both careers, Faull is ahead .. and we all know how big Riewoldt became.
@drivethrujoob The others in the crop have a larger body of work across junior footy that gives them credits in the bank. Trembath has been a late(ish) bloomer who has taken the opportunities presented.
@YzeCubs@Damo__73_ They all had Armstrong in front of Shanahan as well, so I expect that you believe we should've picked Shanahan over Armstrong as well then?
