UPDATE | Brown Mogotsi’s legal representative, Radasi Sekgatja, has raised concerns over his client’s arrest shortly after completing his testimony at the Madlanga Commission. Sekgatja claims Mogotsi is being targeted with “trumped-up charges” because of the stance he took while giving evidence before the commission.

CONFIRMED: Police statement: MAN ARRESTED FOR VOSLOORUS CASE OF DEFEATING THE ENDS OF JUSTICE A SAPS multidisciplinary team has this evening executed a J50 warrant of arrest and arrested a suspect for defeating the ends of justice. The case emanates from the alleged staging of an attempted assassination on the suspect’s life in Vosloorus. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the firearm used in the commission of the crime has also been linked to other serious and violent crimes, including cases of murder and attempted murder. The suspect is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 May 2026. @pule_jones @eNCA

@SAPoliceService Word on the streets is that. Drug cartels buy farms ,register it in the name of a white person to act as a farmers ,then they send him foreign nationals to work on the farm and cook drugs in a lab ,same way chinese rooks did with rhino horns in SA farms and claimed as poaching

#sapsHAWKS UPDATE - Eleven suspects are expected to make their first appearance before the Swartruggens Magistrate’s Court, this morning, on 15 May 2026, facing charges related to drug manufacturing, illegal possession of precious metals, illegal possession of hazardous materials and contravention of the Immigration Act. This follows an intelligence-driven operation conducted by Crime Intelligence Head Office, Organized Crime Head Office, and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation’s (DPCI) South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) based at Head Office and other stakeholders which resulted in the arrest of eleven (11) suspects linked to a suspected clandestine drug manufacturing laboratory on 13 May 2026. #sapsHQ [SWARTRUGGENS DRUG LAB] The Acting National Commissioner of the SAPS, Lt Gen Puleng Dimpane, has welcomed the arrest of 11 suspects following the discovery of a multimillion rand drug manufacturing laboratory on a farm in Swartruggens, North West. The suspects include four Mexican nationals and one woman. The intell driven op was executed by the #SAPS National Head Office Crime Intelligence, National Head Office Organised Crime Investigations and a National team from the DPCI. This intelligence-driven operation resulted in the successful dismantling of the #DrugLab and the arrest of the suspects. Lieutenant General Dimpane commends members for their continued commitment in dismantling organised crime syndicates involved in the manufacturing and distribution of drugs. “The latest drug bust must send a stern warning to criminals that the South African Police Service remains resolute and relentless in the fight against crime. We will continue to intensify operations aimed at disrupting and dismantling drug networks operating within our communities,” said Lieutenant General Dimpane. Last week alone, police arrested 280 suspects for dealing in drugs and a further 2 573 suspects for possession of drugs during operations conducted across the country. NSFAS Board Members have now confirmed on a sworn affidavit before court, that Higher Education Minister, Buti Manamela, convened a secret meeting with them with no agenda, no record, no secretariat, and no minutes! To make matters worse, they say he confiscated their phones on arrival. All this to interfere with the appointment of a CEO. This is the highest level of ethical degeneration! In South Africa when you exercise public power, you must do so lawfully, transparently and with a proper record.
