Grave Miscarriage of justice against Sunday Jackson This is Mr. Sunday Jackson, from Adamawa State. On March 7, 2025, the highest Court in Nigeria sentenced him to death by hanging for disarming and k!ll!ng a fulani terrorist who attacked him in his own farm. In 2015, Jackson, a 29-year-old farmer and student from Dong Community in Demsa LGA of Adamawa, was working on his farm in Kodomti Community, Numan LGA when Buba Ardo Bawuro, a herdsman, herded his cattle into his farm to feed on his crops. Jackson challenged him but the herdsman pulled out a knife and attacked him twice. Although wounded, Jackson was able to seize the knife and stab him in return. Bawuro later died from his wounds. The police arrested and tried the farmer with culpable homicide in Yola High Court. The charge carried a death sentence under Section 211 of the penal code. He was subsequently sentenced to death by hanging by the lower court. He appealed to the Court of Appeal and later the Supreme Court, but the death sentence was upheld. This ruling sets a dangerous precedent that undermines self-defence claims in similar situations, sending a chilling message to those who might defend their livelihoods. Justice System Critique. This case reveals systemic biases and inadequate legal representation, raising serious concerns about the integrity of Nigeria’s judicial process. Funke Adeoye, the founder of Hope Behind Bars, the prison reform non-governmental organisation which provided legal aid to Jackson, confirmed that one of the judges had dismissed the charges against him but he was convicted based on the confessional statement he wrote without the help of a lawyer. Jackson’s case has attracted national and international attention. Civil society organisations say that his conviction did not consider mitigating circumstances. The Nigerian public has also been keen on the case. A petition on that has now reached 70,000 signatures appeals that Jackson be granted a presidential pardon. Sunday has now spent 9 years in custody for an act of survival. change.org/p/grant-a-pres… H/T ijeomadaisy RT and tell the world about the abuse of justice in Nigeria

This is Mr. Sunday Jackson, a Christian from Adamawa. On March 7, 2025, the highest Court in Nigeria sentenced him to death by hanging for disarming and killing a fulani terrorist who attacked him in his own farm. As in, the only man on record to have gallantly and successfully fought back against an invading Fuulaani terrorist who attacked him in his farm was quickly arrested by the police, arraigned in court and sentenced to death for successfully standing up to a terrorist who invaded his farm and attacked him. He’s currently in jail and Tinubu and his team conveniently forgot to consider him for presidential pardon extended to roques and other deadly criminals. None of the fuulaani terr0r!sts have ever been arrested or prosecuted for their numerous genocidal attacks on indigenous people in Nigeria. NONE!! When the Fulani jihadists attack and massacre a whole village and TAKE OVER THEIR LAND, the govt does nothing (some parts of Benue are currently being occupied by the jihadists after k!ll!ng off the original inhabitants. Ditto Jos. Please fact check this) but when you successfully defend yourself, the same govt arrests and sentences you to death using their compromised judiciary. In otherwords, if you survive their jihadists, they use their court to finish what their jihadists failed to achieve. And some of you lost s0uls are saying this is no genocide. I sincerely wish @MikeArnoldTruth or @tedcruz can get @realDonaldTrump to place a heavy sanction on our Supreme Court justices who delivered that atrocious ruling.

MISSING OUTRAGE: Bill Maher on Friday blasted the lack of protests over Islamic groups murdering Nigerian Christians. "They've killed over 100,000 since 2009. They've burned 18,000 churches...This is so much more of a genocide attempt than what is going on in Gaza," Maher said.

I am thrilled to be joining the University of Notre Dame Department of Economics starting in Fall 2025! The University of Notre Dame's strategic framework observes that "This effort to educate students and conduct research at the highest level animated by a distinctive Catholic mission is one of the most exciting and consequential experiments in global higher education." I agree. And I am excited to be a part of it!

I have successfully defended my PhD at Purdue University, USA, what a journey it has been! I now join the ranks of my parents as the third PhD holder in my family. My parents paved the way for me to achieve this milestone. Although I am not a first-generation PhD student, some aspects of the journey were still surprising. There were days when my strength failed me, but I am incredibly grateful for the experience and the support I have received along the way. It truly takes a village to train a child. Over the past few months, I have applied to 350+ positions across various sectors, as I continue to await the right opportunity. I am optimistic, being confident in the value I bring to any organization. My background includes working with the African Union, where I gained valuable experience in policy, diplomacy and international cooperation. I am exploring opportunities in : 🔹 Academia – Assistant Professor roles in French Literature, Francophone Studies, African Studies, Comparative Literature, African Literature, Gender Studies, Migration and Diaspora Studies and Postdoctoral fellowships. 🔹 Higher Education Administration – Director of Student Engagement, International Students, Campus Outreach, Global Education Programs, Study Abroad etc. 🔹 Nonprofit Sector – Program and Project Management, Education Policy, Youth Leadership Coordination, Social Justice Initiatives and Community Outreaches. 🔹 Think Tanks & Research Institutes – Education Policy Research, African Development Studies, Migration and Diaspora Studies 🔹 International & Multilateral Organizations – Education, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global Development Programs, Policy Advising. 🔹 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Social Impact – CSR Strategy, Community Engagement, Social Impact Consulting. 🔹 Bilingual & Cross-Cultural Roles – Cross-Cultural Communication, International Relations, Global Partnerships, Diplomacy (This list is not exhaustive!) How You Can Help ✔️ If you know of any relevant job openings, please share them with me! ✔️ If you have connections in these fields, I would love an introduction. ✔️ If you can’t assist directly, a like, comment, or repost would go a long way in increasing visibility. I am only considering opportunities in the United States and remote opportunities.I am excited for the next chapter of my journey and look forward to contributing my skills to a mission-driven organization. Thank you all for your support. I truly appreciate it! 💙

I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over. Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do. We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was “Earned Media,” and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

@Makena_Jr @Optimistic_Ade @seunonigbinde This is the comment I was looking for. Nigerians are too dumb. The news said it was depleted by $3.5b and not depleted to $3.5b. Most gullible Nigerians who lack comprehension are running with false narratives about the GEJ government.

@Optimistic_Ade @seunonigbinde Depleted by $3.5b. Question you should ask is how much was left. Borrowed to pay salaries means there was a budget deficit. N473b. Lol. Bubu & Tpain have spent trillions yearly just to service the national debt & have borrowed even more trillions to pay salaries. Use your head.

So all that macroeconomic stability in the OBJ-GEJ years that provided huge reserves, attracted investments, preserved value and expanded middle class was just rounded up as “fake life”. The Saudis and Qataris are also living fake life. Instead of us to be honest in our decline of quality visionary leadership, lack of accountability and dearth of technocratic capabilities. Nigerians are inside “one chance”.

This study provides evidence of a negative causal effect of divorce on children's outcomes, w/ different consequences for girls & boys. - My reaction as an applied microeconomist: Clever identification, the LATE is important: these are divorces likely driven by infidelity (if driven by something more harmful to children, effects would be different). - My reaction as a middle-age woman who has friends whose husbands have left them for younger women at work: Seriously, guys?? This first stage is pathetic.

Met @PeterObi for the First Time in My Life on a flight from London to Abuja 3 weeks ago. Yes he was in the First Class Cabin ; I have always maintained that Peter obi is not poor and the fact that he take economy many times in Nigeria is a good strategy to interact with the people he want to vote for him, if your candidate feel that’s cheating, they can do the same, let Atiku and Tinubu fly Economy too😊. Secondly he look like he didn’t have any security but he has! As a man who do land business , I have had to learn and understand security issues very well and guess what? The Best Security is the invincible ones. If you want people to vote for you and yet have 4 body guards surrounding you, no one will feel comfortable to come Near You. As we waited for our bags at least over 20 people spoke with him and for Me , the Man’s strategy resonate with Nigerians at a Deep Level. Guess What, I never told him I supported him during the election, I just told him , I love his electoral promises and ask to take picture and that’s it, question is why didn’t I have lengthy talk? 1) I Am not a politician and I Am bipartisan, this is why I supported Peter obi for president and jidesanwoolu for Governor of Lagos , by the way I have never met Governor Sanwo-Olu even till date , intentionally So though. 2) Nigerians must know that any candidate you support should be in your interested as a citizen, base on who you think will serve you well . don’t move with the mindset that you are doing them a favor by voting them. Let’s vote base on patriotism and not personal gratifications from the candidate . 3) I love political commentary devoid of any form of inducement . Each time you see Me write about My political views , it’s My view only, no One advise Me to write for or against anyone and I want to keep it that way. Finally , I still feel Mr Peter Obi has a political Date with Nigeria’s Destiny. Either he become President or Not in Future, Nigeria. Political History will be kind to Mr Peter Obi and he will remain reference point for Years to come just like AWOLOWO. Happy Easter and God Bless you All.
