@cibc After 18 years with CIBC, we’re devastated. Our family of 4 perfect credit, multiple mortgages, never a missed payment had ALL accounts suddenly closed with no explanation. We trusted them since arriving in Canada in 2007. Client care gave no answers, just “final decision.

@cibc When we asked why, we were told they couldn’t share the reason, and that disclosing it you might post on social media. After 18 years of loyalty and doing everything responsibly, this is how it ended.

@cibc We called client care multiple times trying to understand the situation. Each time we were told nothing showing on their end, that a case would be opened, Eventually someone did call, but instead of answers, we were told the decision was final and that we had to close everything.

@cibc So what happened next honestly caught us off guard. Last month, my husband and I both received emails saying that all of our accounts would be closed.

@cibc we’ve done everything right. All four of us in the household, myself, my husband, and our two young adult sons, work full time. My husband and I have had stable careers for 15 and 13 years, and we’ve always kept our accounts in excellent standing. We’ve never missed a payment.

@cibc Hi Steven, We opened our accounts with CIBC the very first day we arrived in Canada in 2007. Over time, we built our entire financial life there, including chequing and savings, credit cards, three mortgages, and a line of credit.
