@theaceofspaeder While I’m not disagreeing with the premise. Isn’t it a strike if it touches the strike zone? Whats the difference if 50% vs 1%. It’s still a strike. Hitters puts balls in play all the time, so is it not feasible to assume a ball touching the strike zone can also be put into play?
English

Okay, can we do 50/50 at least? If more than half the ball is in the zone, it is a strike, if not, it is a ball.
Because this is dumb. Sorry if that hurts you.

This is the closest overturned call we've seen so far. An ⅛ of a millimeter farther outside and it's a ball.
English

Fundamentally flawed thinking from this guy. I don’t understand how you can call someone who proved it in multiple leagues (Japan and US) and in the playoffs, not an Ace yet…
Foul Territory@FoulTerritoryTV
Is Yoshinobu Yamamoto an ace? @ErikKratz31 and @ByMcCullough say no, @alannarizzo says yes.

Baseball is back and this umpire is awful in the Taiwan vs Australia game. Wells and Hsu are fun to watch. Both some of the best teammates you could have ! #TeamTaiwan

On-Air debut in the books. Grateful for the opportunity. We are off here in 2026.
Crazy that @kevinnbrown and I are the same height too. Who would’ve thought?

Humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this organization. Excited to learn, serve, and contribute alongside so many great coaches. Thankful for those who helped me get here. 🙏

@zachbollinger18 “The Thiccker” it’s right there… cmon people!
English

@ryanripkenshow Agreed, I just don’t know if there’s a better guy for the job with this group of guys.
Look at the Jays this year in the regular season led by former assistant coach stepped into manager.
English

@ZacLowther The front office won't let Buck walk. Whoever comes in to manage, Buck will be on this staff. If Buck Britton isn't on the staff, that would be problematic and shocking to me.
English

@ryanripkenshow So do you let him walk? If a new manager comes in and doesnt want Buck there, you can’t demote him. He goes somewhere else if you’re asking me.
I think with this team you gotta take a leap and Buck has won at every level he’s coached at and especially with a lot of these guys.
English

@zachbollinger18 I just don’t want people to act like Elias’ job is easy and predictable.
In a perfect world it is. But we do not live there.
I mean if Charlie Morton doesn’t look like a shell, if Bautista, GRod, Bradish, Westburg, Eflin,
I mean you see the randomness right? Almost everything
English

@zachbollinger18 Love this for him. I honestly think he came up at the right time, Maybe too long past the trade deadline. He was hot in Triple A and now he’s rolling that into playing everyday and playing well.
Can we stop questioning Elias?
When is the party for him with Basallo and Beavers?
English

I don’t think that was in my contract Jake.

#Orioles announce plans for the Cal Ripken Jr. 2131 Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 6. A ton of former players and Commissioner Rob Manfred set to be in attendance. Ripken will be driven around warning track in red Corvette convertible. @ryanripkenshow to throw out 1st pitch.
English

@ryanripkenshow Who do the O’s approach for the manager role next year? I believe he’s already on staff in Buck Britton. Can’t say enough good things about Buck and his managerial skills, we can both attest to that.
English

@PitchingNinja Watching it, the wideup step could be a timing thing after coming back from surgery. Seemed like he was yanking things more than is typical for him. Usually a very in line guy, seemed slightly more rotational around himself 🤷🏻♂️. But after the break he’s had not surprised
English

@zachbollinger18 I’m once did 5 runs without an out. That didn’t feel great… lol
English

@zeroforwinger @jcalvinmeyer I understand the sentiment but would you be happy if they offered burnes an exact match of a deal or a Fried deal and they still said no? It’s the same result either way. And I think Eovaldi signed an extension or new contract before he hit FA but your point still remains
English

@ZacLowther @jcalvinmeyer You can’t predict it true, but it’s part of the decision making process. Everyone knew Burnes wanted to be in Arizona. They offered 4/180 to Burnes, allegedly. Why not try to beat the contract that Fried got? Why not go after Eovaldi?
English

The discourse surrounding Mike Elias is lacking nuance.
This is not as black & white as many portray it to be, and Trevor Rogers' start today was the latest example.
If this season has taught us anything, it’s that baseball is a strange, silly game. 📰: bit.ly/3Z2vZ7b
