He was all of those things. He was a Republican. He was, by every honest measure, an American hero. And the President danced on his grave.

Republican have always been about pro business and freedom’ whereas Democrats want to limit both. 1) Prohibit slavery and polygamy in the territories 2) Kansas as a free state 3) Build a transcontinental railroad 4) Improvements of rivers and harbors to facilitate commerce
