Garmin’s ability to adapt very impressive.  It jumped ~20% today (to record $58B) after earnings beat and guided to sales of $8B for 2026. Over the past 18 years, it’s survived existential threats from Google and Apple: ◽️ GPS: When Google released Maps for Android in 2008, Garmin's car GPS devices made $2B a year (~70% of total sales). It's now only $1B year (or ~12% of sales) ◽️Smartwatches: From 2008 to 2014, Garmin’s smart fitness watches (GPS, heart tracking, waterproof) grew from $0 to $1B. Then, Apple released the Apple Watch. In response to the Apple threat, Garmin started selling high-end models and has carved out a niche in the premium fitness smartwatch market ($2-$3,000 price points vs. sub-$1,000 for Apple Watch Ultra). Smartwatches (under “Fitness”) made $2.3B in 2025 and was the company’s largest segment for the first time. Today, fitness and outdoor equipment make up ~60% of Garmin's revenue (GPS — evenly divided between car, aviation and marine segments — is ~40% of revenue vs. 100% in 2008). After surviving Big Tech haymakers, Garmin’s market cap is up 9x from 2008.

@ZachRask @CarverCountyGOP It's strange that the MN cable lobbyist would pretend they are solving a problem. Federal law governs, the communists in Minnesota can't change that. Smells more like a lobbyist creating a fake problem they can charge their client to "solve" than anything else.

Why? Taxes suck, especially when the money goes to fraud (aka theft) through the irresponsible government.

@corey_hauer @CarverCountyGOP Correct. Internet services is not taxed. However they are attempting to do just that here in MN. Search up “ no internet tax mn” …this is a legit concern right now

@CarverCountyGOP Interesting chart but it’s wrong with regard to Internet tax. The Internet tax freedom act (ITFA) prevents Internet service itself from being taxed in any state. I can’t speak to other service services that happened to ride on top of Internet service.

I am far from a soccer expert, but it’s amazing how different three matches I’ve watched in the last two days have looked. England v Mexico match last night, Spain v Portugal match earlier today, and the start of this US v Belgium battle.

I love this and I would agree. Wild don't have the pieces to pull this off after the Hughes trade... unless its for a significant roster player like Boldy, which would obviously be a non-starter.

Seems to confirm our reporting that it was Minnesota that decided to cut the cord with him. Zuccarello is still a heckuva player. Wild went 10-0-2 in his first 12 games last season to turn year around. He ranks fourth in #mnwild history in assists and sixth in points. Pro's pro

The Minnesota Wild choosing not to re-sign a 39yo Zuccarello so Kaprizov learns to play a more assertive style of offense and builds chemistry with other players is a good thing. Also not extending a 34yo Tarasenko and instead putting belief in a younger Bobby Brink to play that role is also a good thing. Get younger and faster. And if not younger, find vets whom you can sign with bonus-laden contracts to incentivize higher levels of performance.
