In 1997, a bottle of Fiji Water cost about the same as any other bottled water. Then they did something strange. They didn’t compete on purity. They didn’t compete on price. They competed on story. They made the entire brand about “untouched water from a remote tropical island”. They leaned into scarcity in place. It became a status symbol. The crazy part? The water inside the bottle was still… water. But people were willing to pay 4,000% more for it. The takeaway? Sometimes the product doesn’t have to change at all. Only the way people see themselves when they use it.

@drewfallon12 What if there's an angle where it's so bad people might actually read it? Is there a site that compiles these or an X account?

Not a lot of people understand this... but you actually don’t have to have an opinion about everything. You don’t have to decide if something is good or bad. Marcus Aurelius says limiting the amount of opinions we have is one of the most powerful things we can do in life.

I love this about @omnisend   💯 I wish more companies were "Customer Funded" instead of VC Funded. We'd have better companies, better products, and people that genuinely cared about their customers, like Omnisend does. This is an episode worth catching with their founder and CEO, @RytisLauris.

A company was selling three protein powder flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter. They also had a quiz on their site to help people build a custom bundle. But a lot of people were leaving their carts behind and not buying. When they looked at the quiz answers more closely, they noticed something interesting. In 21% of the responses, people were typing in their own flavor ideas under the “Other” box: “Wish you had cinnamon roll” “I miss Cinnabon” “Make a cinnamon swirl PLEASE” At first, the team ignored it. But then they saw that many of the people asking for cinnamon were also the ones who stopped opening their emails or left the site quickly. So the team decided to try something: they made a new flavor called Sticky Cinnamon. They didn’t announce it on the website. It was only available through the quiz, and they only told people about it by email. Here’s what happened: - 29% of people who opened the email clicked through - They made $87,000 in 3 days - 31% of buyers ordered again within 2 months The takeaway? Sometimes the best ideas come from the people who give up and walk away.

And just like that, Meta turned off all lower funnel events for one of our brands, putting us in the 'health and wellness - condition' category. Even though we clearly are not in this category and shouldn't be. Even though we're spending millions with them, there is no recourse, just a simply button to 'appeal' and literally no reasoning, support, or actual help. Meta is a flawed business in many ways. Their lack of support for small businesses will come back to bite them at some point. How can they let this happen?

@yojimmykim Or the layout, if click rate is low and new copy isn't helping shorten your email. Don't design emails like landing pages!

Your email looks great. The product’s solid. But no one’s clicking. The problem? Probably the copy. Because in email marketing, words are what drive action. They speak to your audience’s needs, show them the value, and make it easy to say yes. Here’s how to write email copy that actually brings results 👇 (With examples)
